I can see where my career is going. RAA has a comprehensive onboarding program, unique opportunities for development, and strong talent management processes. RAA is multi industry organisation with multiple pathways up and across, and I feel like I have so many opportunities to grow my career here. 

RAA's perks and benefits are fantastic. RAA's culture is purpose-led and has a clear set of values to guide the way people work. We have clearly defined values and behaviours and reward and recognise these. The environment is collaborative and so friendly - everyone smiles as they pass you in the hallway! There is also a comprehensive Leadership framework to support people to do their best work. 

I can see the impact I'm making at RAA. Working for an SA based organisation lets me make direct contributions to the future of our state. RAA is constantly evolving and testing new ideas and makes innovation a priority for all staff. We also have programs that demonstrate how we impact the community, like our Giving Back social causes and sponsored events.

RAA is growing at a rapid rate. As a consequence, some of our systems and processes have not kept up with us! However, there are multiple active projects focused on enabling and improving our workplace experience at RAA. These include improvements to the way our systems talk to each other and move data between them, a faster, more reliable internet connection and improved meeting room experience.

Too many managers, many of whom manage nobody except themselves. Promotions based more on who you know rather than skills and ability. Too many major decisions are based upon consultant (big 4) recommendations  to ensure to management have someone else to blame when things go wrong. Never before come across an executive team like this who dodge all decision making responsibilities and are quick to shift blame onto others when things go wrong. A lot of nice people but too much notice taken of the me-too entitled generation instead of those with real valuable business experience who are ignored. A small company who actually believe they can mix it with the big players in insurance and travel. Their major IT business system looks like something out of the 70’s and should have been scrapped years ago.

I worked in a wonderful team of administration assistants, and team work was essential to complete work in a timely manner for internal and external clients.

I found the job enjoyable as it had variety, and whilst dealing with angry members was at times difficult, it was always rewarding when a positive outcome was achieved.

The RAA provided training when required to assist in completion of work related issues.  They also provided training in WHS related programmes e.g. workplace bullying and harassment, office ergonomics etc.

I had envisaged working for the RAA until retirement, but unfortunately business decisions made my department redundant.

Lets start with the positives - RAA is a good organisation, the general staff are awesome, the benefits are pretty good and I felt the salary was okay.

It all starts to go horribly wrong when you take into account the "do as I say" managers who - whilst maybe managers - are NOT leaders.

I had one particular day of insane workloads - my manager had managed to slide off for the day and when I finally broke down and lost my cool (as this had been building for weeks) - I was laughed at by another manager.

I felt very disrespected and once I left, I realised that they pick managers based on some "boys club" concept rather than talent.

Very strange and glad to have moved on.

On arrival to work, log onto computors , do housekeeping, Put money in register. Read emails, then customer service receiving payments from clients, booking accommodation, travel insurance, quoting on car, home insurance. Order stock, if stock arrived mark stock off put stock up and general housekeep. We rotated doing the banking. We were on targets each month so was a requirement to reach them. At end of shift balance monies turn of computer lock up

To start with the interview and selection criteria is rediculous. I thought I was applying for a job with NASA at one point.A 6 month probation period, insane amount of product knowledge you are expected to learn, home, car, bike, caravan, boat, trailer insurance, finance etc etc and road service. And more. Insane monthly sales targets that are unrealistic. Not worth your sanity.

Great place to work. Raa really values it’s people, both financially and safety and well being wise. Like any company don’t expect a free ride though. Hard work and dedication are greatly rewarded. A lot of opportunity for career advancement and free or subsidised training is provided with time off work given to study to pave the way for your own future. If you’re a go getter you’ll really succeed at the RAA! 

You can't have fun at work just come in and do your work and don't talk to anyone  unless your a favourite then you can get away with anything, very draining, if you want to keep your sanity don't work here. The pay is very low as well.

My time doing work experience at RAA was pleasant as the environment was very friendly and welcoming. As well as this it tended to feel productive overall.

I loved my work experience here. I learned how to drain oil from the car, how to flush a radiator. I would definitely go back for more work experience or an apprenticeship.
