I worked at this company for close to 3 years and went from being a Christmas casual to ppt. The in-store atmosphere was lovely, and my boss and coworkers were amazing, but head office was toxic and unsupportive with their sales expectations, particularly during the bushfires and the pandemic. There weren't ever enough staff to cover time off, and the work life balance was terrible once I went from casual to ppt. The expectation to grovel to rude amd aggressive customers was also highly problematic. 
The clothing perks were good as uniform was provided to us for free, which included a pair of aussie made boots each year. And we got a decentish discount. Also occasional incentives, but these were usually far out of reach.
Negatives were definitely the toxic and passive aggressive micromanaging head office staff. They are out of touch with what goes on at store level and it shows. Also the uniform expectations. Wearing thick fabrics, long pants/sleeves and leather boots through Australian summer heat was ridiculous.
I quit my job at this company due to stress after the lockdown reopenings. The pay was award wage but very little career progression meant it wasn't a survivable wage at part time. Also with being constantly short staff taking time off was hard and we were pressured to take only the bare minimum.

Unrealistic expectations and store layout set by head office who do not work on the shop floor or the area. So they had no idea of customer needs.  
If you didn’t learn quickly you were abused by customers & had to pander to all customer needs regardless of any policies set about returns etc. 
Was not informed of new ownership of the company, and looked bad when customers already knew Twiggy Forrest owned it, but head office did not relay the message to the floor staff. 
Working in a store that was affected by bushfires, & floods, head office did not support the staff members during these times. Was forced to work during the floods & could barely get to work safely. 
Was questioned about the bushfires by head office with them saying to us over the phone “but it’s no where near you guys”, regardless it’s in the mountains on both sides of the gully & was close to co workers house. 
Management in a pandemic was okay. But when returning to work did not support the staff when customers were abusing the staff about number of customers allowed in the store. 
Store struggled for months to get staff after some left, leaving the staff members helpless & no support.
Only perk was the discount & uniform allocation, some co workers lovely to work with and experienced the same experience from head office. Some co workers are extremely rude. 

With the ANZ Trustees area I was a member of the Common Fund team and my role entailed dealing with Solicitors, Sharebrokers and Accountants who were investing funds on behalf of clients.  This department was relocated interstate and staff were transferred internally if there was a suitable role within the ANZ.

I then moved to work with the State Manager and District Managers in the Administration area acting as Reception / WOP.  In this role I oversaw two other staff whom Job Shared and shared the reception / WPO duties with myself.  

This department was also moved interstate, hence my retrenchment.

Be expected to come in early and leave more than an hour later if your manager doesn't want to drive in traffic. There was limited communication between upper management and sales associates. No performance review's given and people often let go for no reason.
Hardest part of the job was dealing with a manager who would outright refuse to talk to customers if she didn't like them and would ignore their calls
The best part is that its good quality items, the boots are amazing and you get fantastic discounts. I worked with some fantastic people but unfortunately I could not continue working for a manager who was racist and abusive to my co-workers.

My typical day at Rm Williams involved assisting in daily cleaning duties whist working in a team environment. some of this involved cleaning specific cleaning products such as leather and offices.

Often this involved working with and around customers, I would often assist clients with inquiries involving specific products whilst working in my cleaning duties.

I was also tasked with working with heavy machinery and other required cleaning products required to get the job done.

My 19 years at RM's was great.  The Company was always evolving and worked as a family to achieve its goals.

RM's is a diverse Company which Manufacturers Footwear, Craft and Clothing. This is sold through there own Retail stores, Wholesalers and is Exported around the world.

A couple of years ago RM's was bought out by LVMH and in 2015 a restructure of the organisation was implemented and both Management and Admin staff were made redundant to implement the new direction of this Company.

I worked here briefly and my time there was some of my favourite at work. The company is honest and everyone who works there works hard. They're all skilled at what they do and if you're into factory work of any kind i think they have a place for you. Unfortunately I was hired around Christmas for the rush and even though contractually I was suppose to work night shifts they forced me into day shifts by the end of training and I wasn't able to perform at my normal standard.

RM Williams, Company is very fair to work for, I currently work in the finishing Department, where we have to inspect to final garments before they are  packed ready for distribution.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Now it's all about quantity not quantity.
P&C team don't support the management. Staff can do what they like with no consequences.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Working with people who are away every second week 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very poor. Nobody wants to be there.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Waiting for the next drama to unfold

RM Williams is a great company to work for, good pay etc. The supervisors are excellent and train people well and when going through rough times will give time off to sort yourself out. Unfortunately though i was casual and the company decided to get rid of all casuals and only have fulltimers there. Most of the staff are like family and ivr got to no most of them during  my 7 yrs there
