The Company once was well managed and was a great place to work. The staff were loyal to the Qantas brand and were treated as Family. Unfortunately things changed as management changed. We all took a 18month pay freeze to help Qantas Airways out through a  financialy difficult time. The new management were only worried about how the Catering company looked on paper and had no interest in the wellbeing of the staff. The amount of staff that have been injured through an unsafe and undermaintained workplace is unbelieveable.Qantas have now sold off the catering arm to its opposition and refuse to look after the staff that have given them so many years of loyal service. Its a complete disgrace how the staff are treated and the company isn't spending any funds and letting the place run down, It has become a nightmare for most of us and we are all just so upset at the way Qantas has gone about this change, with no regard to the loyal employees. I guess when the CEO can make such huge wages he doesnt need to think about who made it possible for him.

Being a supervisor is really rewarding when you have staff that helps one another in your daily tasks which makes my job alot easier. Also assisting new casuals that have come into learn how to do the work that we do, cause most of them are UNI students. We have all walks of life that come to work for Qantas and we are very culture sensitive. The hardest part of the job is when Management come down and try to tell you "to do it this way" which is not the right way cause we look after our people PPE. Enjoyable part of the job is at the end of the shift and you know you and your team have done an excellent job and are "Thanking them for a job well done".

twenty four years of shift work made me a very flexible person and every day a new challenge emerged,  lots of people and theirs cultures made the place very interesting and thanks to it a made some very good friends.The many shifts made it very physically and mentally demanding but the perks that came with being a QANTAS
employee made it very easy to forget all the demands of the job.After retiring I just found that I still have a lot to offer  a future employer and being in very good shape mentally and physically will be a plus.

Working in teams, you can socialise as well as discuss the work. Managers take note of what we have to say, whether it be positive or negative. All feedback is taken on board. The hardest part of the job is that it is shift work, although it also has benefits of being able to have a social life.

Qantas by being one of the biggest companies in Australia provided me with experience among the corporate world and hospitality and food industries and also in the administrative part of it, having to deal with stock, invoices, etc. Great experience.

Busy and working within set time frame and KPI's 
No much support from Management ,and favouritism across the workplace 
Favouritism  in getting shifts ,to training, etc

I  learned to work in a safety environment wherein the company provide  Induction ,Occupational Health And Safety procedure at the workplace and the most important is the Teamwork .

Management are inept.. No manager ever worked in there actual area. 
Long time staff are lazy
Avoid if you can..
Staff Travel is the only real benefit.

Professional and Good Management. Good working and helping culture between Colleagues. 
Always safety at first. 
Free food for all the staffs and the visitors.
Good pay rates.
