Pumpkin Patch

A typical day at work would require me to arrive 15-10 mins before my shift started at 9am, so that I could organise the days cash and banking documents ready for close that day. I am also required to open the store and prepare the computers for start of day. Throughout the day as a duty manager I am require to manage the staff, ensuring that tasks are being completed to a high standard set by management. I am also required to ensure that customer receive excellent customer care; providing assistance, handling quality complaints, customer orders and phone inquiries. Finally at the end of the day I am required to close all tills and fill in the required paperwork that head office requires and organise the banking. I must ensure that the store is perfect for the next day's trading.
Over my time at Pumpkin Patch I have learnt how to better handle customer, staff and management, whilst maintaining a high level of performance in the tasks that I must complete.
Management for my store is great, however head office management can present challenges throughout the day.
My co-workers are beautiful we are one huge family, there is never any drama and we all love socialising outside of work. I am the youngest team member and the oldest would approximately be 60.
There is not a 'hard' part to my job, however I have some frustrations, for example the unpredictability frustrates me a little. Often head office creates challenges due to their unpredictable decisions. One minute the can request a sale change and the next they are asking us to set it all back up again.
For me the most enjoyable part of my job is building customer relationships. I have been at Pumpkin Patch for a number of years now and have built a number of strong relationships with regular customers, watching their kids grow and change is great.

On a typical day at work we would start the day with either unpacking of stock then we would do mark downs and obviously have a high level of customer service whilst doing the work required,
 We would help the Manager with what ever tasks she would set for us or we would work alone in order for her to do her Management side of the business, 
My Co workers at Pumpkin Patch were amazing and I have made some life long friends from my time working at Pumpkin Patch
 My most enjoyable part of my job was the unpacking of the new season stock and I loved this as I could go out the back and just get through as many boxes as I could in my allocated time.

Pumpkin Patch as a company and employee isn't the ideal place for anyone. In the 2 and a half years i have been with them there has been a lot of drama some days were calm but due to certain people in charge things weren't good, it can be depressing and working hard for such minimum wage isn't worth it. 

There is a lot of favouritism in the workplace and the current store manager is barely on the floor and is not supportive she comes and goes as she pleases takes a lot of time off and goes to other stores to help when her main focus should be her store. All the staff at this store think they all have authority when they're just the same as everyone else. 

I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

I love working at Pumpkin Patch, My co-workers and manager are all really nice and extremely helpful.
I love being able to work with such amazing people and help our customers find the items they need, I enjoy seeing my customers leave with a smile on their faces knowing I helped them to the best of my ability.
I enjoy merchandising and have learned many valuable skills at pumpkin patch that have helped me to grow and become a better salesperson. I have learned how to truly interact with customers to ensure I can direct them to the best possible choices based on  what they are looking for and what they have told me.

Working at Pumpkin Patch is a great job, always go to work with a smile on my face. The people who come into the store are often such kind people and co-workers are so caring and friendly. The management is great and very flexible in certain situations. You learn so many new things when it comes to work as well as daily life experiences. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to work with so many adults and children, handing out stickers and balloons always make the kids happy which can brighten your whole day. Great fun working for them and always learning new things.

I love Customer service, from greeting and helping the customer to finding the location of the required goods. I love all aspects of merchandising and displaying. I love working with my co-workers and management. We have a great time. The most hardest part of the job is - there really isn't one I can tell you. I really enjoy working and having the interation with customers and staff.

Great company, great place to work, Management are lovely people.

Here in Australia i found the staff very friendly, welcoming and kind.
Hard workers and Customer friendly.
Can honestly say that I enjoyed/Loved my job, If it wasn't for moving 45 minutes away i would still be there to date.

Being a part of this diverse team has many advantages. The most prominent is that everyone comes from a different background with different experience, which combines into a great big ball of fun. The days vary but there is always things to do and customers to help, along with great product that comes with matching styles.

Selling children’s wear clothing, merchandising and filling stock
Gained knowledge on colour coordination, current trends for children, clothing quality, and sales skills
Management was average, and workplace a pleasant and enjoyable environment 
Didn’t have any hard or difficult areas 
Most enjoyable area was selling and fantastic product especially the earlier years where the product was still at a premium

I enjoyed working for Pumpkin Patch. The clothing and products sold were of great quality.
Management were always supportive and recognized hard work across the team.
The day was always fast paced and busy environment.
Co workers got along as a Patch family most of the time.
Working with children and cute clothing ...always FUN !
