Princess Cruises

Typical day involved two watch keeping patters of 4 hours each on the bridge navigating the ship. Outside of this, additional work included: maintenance, passage planning, administrational duties. 

Co-workers are from varying nationalities. Predominately British and Italian Officers with Indonesian and Filipino crew. 

Management/Senior Officers are professional and hard working. There is an element of micro management depending on the Senior Officer. 

The hardest part of the job is the time away from home. Contracts on board usually last for 4 months at sea with a break at home of 2 months.

The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to travel and see many different places in many different countries.

The best job I've ever had,  working onboard luxury cruise ships based in Australia. 
Working as a security specialist preventing and investigating criminal acts onboard, extensive customer service and passenger interaction. 
Over all ships management and crew throughout were like my second family,  all friendly and approachable. 

Few minor cons to the job,  working 10 -12 hour shifts every night without a day off for entire contract, pay was good for my level but could be better for lower ranks.

Princess Cruises is a great option for people who struggle to find opportunity in their home countries. Unfortunately, staffers are regularly exploited and leadership is a mess. This job will likely take a toll on both your physical and mental health. Not for the faint of heart.

We have 9 months contract,  if you sell sone of the promotions you can get some extra hour  of break. And its hard job. you dont have  day off and we have to work 12 to 13 hrs a day.  So difficult to adjust, we need a lot of patience of taking care  of the guests. But if you have time to go asshore they some activity for the crew

Hard work long hours but good experience. Met many many people from diverse cultures from all over the world and made some lifelong friends. The company does care for it employees by providing health care and off duty activities almost daily. Thorough safety training and ongoing emergency drills are held weekly.

so far my work experience with princess cruises and star cruises was excellent and enrichable...i have gained profound knowledge working with these companies and work culture and environment is healthy too.overall a rich experience.

I been responsable for hotel machinary and safety of the ship.
i training myself to work with different people everyday,and put myself in new experiences

hardest part at work is when you have do dealing with angry customer

most enjoyable part is when you get to meet people from around the countries. everyone is very friendly and the coach is very helpful.

when our ship docking, it's the time to relax. 

Mixing both guest services, revenue and technology based interactions can be challenging. Finding a sweet spot within this role is imperative.

You must learn to lease freely with management from both Shoreside and Onboard and bridge the gap in order to best present our product.
