Prince Charles Hospital

PCH,The food service department caters for up to 500 patients,providing about 1500 hundred meals a day.Wich one part of kitchen was special dietary requirements a few being vegan,vegetarians,low protein,gluten free,high energy,puree,miniced moist,allergens which I leant broad knowledge off.Have competent in food safty and haccp.Over time had a great relationship with management could go to them an work anything out.The hardest part off my job some days was going home.Always had well liked an happy nature which was appreciated by staff.Also special staff function were done be myself which was very enjoyable.Over me time there it was the best job unfortunate changes were made an redundancy where handed out .

Working at Prince Charles as a volunteer was a great learning experience. I was able to understand how to approach those suffering from mental illness and how to engage with them in both general conversation and various recreational activities. I was provided with a safe work environment which encouraged the development of skills crucial to working with others.

Only the question is if we in the same facility why we have to go for the same interview process when we just want to change the vacinity why there is no preference to work permanent instead other people are getting the job from outside from the public . I have been in the Queensland job for 23years I enjoyed every bit but why do we have to go through all the stress again when all they need is the PDP feedback from the NUM .hope this will be a help for my feedback .

Working at Prince Charles was a real eye opener after losing my job in the corporate world. I was shocked how the hospital and QLD health actually operated. What came into light was the real work culture, as senior management was very very rude and unprofessional, including doctors. However, my co-workers, colleagues and other staff members including the nurses were great

This most definitely was one of the highlight's of my career as a Registered Nurse. I will always remember how kindly the staff of residents and doctors and nursing staff treated me.
The collaboration of knowledge shared was immense and informative and I learned so many clinical aspects of nursing care.

Some of my fellow workmates were great. Alot werent!! Seen alot of VERY poor work ethics and training. New employees thrown into jobs with very little or no training. Then chastised on their performance!! Employees under investigation still working with patients!!! Supervisors well below the standards needed. No communication or the bare minimum for tasks needed to be perform!! 

Not happy with the management I've work with. I've work as fulltime and during my pregnancy my manager ask me to cut down my hours due of having a hard time in my first few months of my pregnacy and agreed that I can go back full time again after my maternity but she didn't put me back to my fulltime job. To me that is very unfair doing that to your employee.

I had enjoyed working there, as I had a lost of opportunity to learn and upgrade my clinical skills and knowledges.

When I was assigned to different wards in the hospital during my jobs in the Nursing Casual pool, I gained lots of news clinical  skills and knowledges there.

Working at Prince Charles Hospital in Queensland, Australia was the beginning of my critical care nursing career. There were wonderful doctors and sisters that I will never forget. As well as many different patients I cared for. An overall wonderful learning experience for me.

Overall the Prince Charles Hospital is an enjoyable place to work. The salary and benefits are great and the hours are also nice and consistent. Unfortunately if you're casual that can become an issue as you'll be one of the first to be unemployed in a budget cut.
