Where to even begin?  After the change of management or certain people who left last year it wasn’t worth working there.  They would constantly call or text during your off days asking you to work, expect a call back when it’s indeed your day off, nice to your face but lied behind your back to clients!   You’re not even allowed to disclose personal things between clients and carers and yet coordinators had no trouble telling clients why you couldn’t make your shift or lie as to why you couldn’t to make themselves look better.  A lot of times I was told that a case manager or coordinator had told a client about my personal problems and I either had to sit there with an angry client to explain myself or just put up with the attitude.  There were times where my shifts would be cancelled and not replaced.  There were also times where my clients would cancel their shifts with me and no one would notify me to let me know.  Many clients complain that they cannot get things through prestige and you try settle the issues with prestige but they don’t get around to doing it and so when you see your clients again they are extra unhappy about you and the company.   You can’t text prestige about serious things but they can text you to ask if you could help them out but the moment you text them they say to call.  

Be prepared to work 2hours a day travelling half hour each way just to see your 1 client for the day!  

So, If you are thinking of applying, is it really worth being bombarded with questions and calls on your day off?  And are you ready to have drama between the coordinators, case managers and clients?   

The management is shocking, there’s no communication or thought put in to anything for the carers.. they’ll want you to do 1 hour shifts with a 2 hour drive at the last minute with no incentive, multiple times they didn’t confirm times with the clients and I would arrive when no one was home, had to argue to get paid for my loss of time. Even though it’s included in the add listing, they won’t pay for petrol from client to client. I would go to 6-8 clients a day, sometimes traveling up to an hour between them and would be out for 15 hours with no petrol pay or time pay. Management will jump down your throat very fast at the slightest inconvenience. All they care about is money. No uniform is provided and no in person training. My first shift I was alone and it was my first time in a PCA role, they did not care. Extremely poor care for staff. The pay was low, especially weekends and overnight work, didn’t make it worth it at all. But don’t worry they’ll pressure you to feel guilty for saying no to a shift they can’t fill. They were also constantly out of PPE so I was constantly having to buy my own with no reimbursement.

I left Prestige in-home care because the pay is below average for the disability industry. This is particularly evident when it comes to working nights and weekends. They'd often ring me up and offer me an additional shifts when I'd already worked a 12 hour shift or ask me to work a 1-2 hour shift that would be two hours away with no financial incentive. They'd get angry when you wouldn't just meet their demands.
All the training was online and a lot of it wasn't paid training nor relevant to the job. The company uniform was docked out of my pay. The most annoying part of working for Prestige in-home care was being regularly underpaid and having to get backpay. Them not understanding that it's unreasonable to expect someone to agree to work more than 12 hours a day or travel two hours away for a 1 hour shift. 

Prestige was recommended to me by a friend and I am so glad I made the switch. My transition from residential aged care to in-home care was made so easy and simple by the lovely staff who supported my orientation.
At Induction I felt like I was surrounded by my family and friends who truly care ( as we all had one objective) in this I received all the necessary tools to exceed in my role.
I couldn't speak more highly enough of Jonathan and the entire Prestige team for their support with my commencement. My now on-going clients love having me come back each day and the coordinators did a great job of matching me up these clients super fast!

I’ve been working here for almost 10 years now and the early years were great, but over time the company has become more and more focused on pleasing their clients and less caring and supportive of their office and frontline staff. There is a high turnover of staff and there has been for years now. There is a culture problem within the company which needs to be addressed and their complaints policy needs an overhaul because innocent workers are paying the price for complaints that are downright petty and ridiculous. If I had my way I’d have left years ago but I’m still here because I don’t have enough references on my CV because I don’t know enough people and also because of the tough times we’re currently in. I don’t recommend approaching this company for work. Go elsewhere. 

I love my job and enjoy working as a PCA. However, the management at prestige is a joke. The only time they seem to ring you for work is when you’re already on a shift with a client. They NEVER ring you back when you call them, take shifts out without telling you or allocate your regular shifts to other people who your clients don’t even like... there seems to be zero communication between them as you’ll tell one person you can’t do a shift and next minute another person is ringing you asking to work the shift you declined. They need to refine their work practices as it frustrates their employees MASSIVELY. 

Working for Prestige over the last 12 months has been amazing! Their clear focus on client need and passion for supporting the community is a culture I have not experienced with any other community organisation. With the community focus and quality care, Prestige has grown quickly which unfortunately reduced my work life balance and my ability to provide quality care. Prestige is a great organisation, and even though it did not work out for me I will continue to recommend the organisation to others.

The client services team genuinely care for their clients and always place them at the centre. It makes the work enjoyable and rewarding. You are empowered to do you best work amongst a team of very friendly and hard working people. The faced paced environment can be a challenge but prestige offer the best supports and have a great team of managers

They will call you everyday even you have told them a million times you cannot work in some days . Cancelled your shift on the same day arrange another staff to fill up your position and making lame excuses about why your shift is replaced . It was actually the staffs are the one who cancelled it. Very poor management not even telling you about the resident health condition if it is serious until you arrive there or you ask them.

Prestige is the first Inhome care company I've worked for and are by far the best company to work for... given a wide variety of clients that you build a close friendship with that make your day. Company award you for your team effort by holding afternoon teas and regular team meetings which is a great way to work
