handover from the early shift at 8.30am. Checking the center was clean and tidy, while signing in members for the gym, kinder gym and other organized activities that were conducted through out the day. Signing up new members for the after school programe and  the many activities  that are available, also organized work for volunteers assigned to the organization. 
I found the PCYC a fun place to work, and everyone worked well as a team, management were very easy to approach if questions were needed to be asked. There were monthly meetings were we were informed of any changes or anything needed addressing.
The hardest part of the position was, during school holidays, where Id be assigned to cook and prepare lunch,that all the children would enjoy , keeping in mind the dietary needs of others.
Having the young ones from kinder gym come in with big smiles and hugs. Having older members acknowledge you and have the time to say hi.
While employed with the PCYC I was able to obtain my LR license enabling me to do the  bus run, Taking  Children to  and from school .

Culture of harassment and bullying by management.  Non productive environment with no understanding of policies and procedures from state office and on site management.  Non responsive help from human resources on harassment and bullying claims.  Culture of using people to achieve very short term goals.

Typical day at work was a great day, I learn new things everyday, it was a pleasure to work with the management and staff, there is no hard part of the job, it is a challenge that I am willing to learn from.
Experiencing and learning new things at work is enjoyable!

Great place to work, however be aware of club managers, job sometimes tends to go to their head and they end up running the place into the ground, especially when they are a smaller club further away and HR do not get out there to check up as much as they should.


I taught children to ride bicycles with due regard for the road rules.  They were very receptive to the time I put in to help them.  The children and teachers liked me and appreciated the extra effort I took to make it fun.

PCYC is an organisation that truely has its heart in helping the public. They help disadvantaged youth  get on their feet and into the mainstream.

Whilst some kids require your attention a lot of the time, you'll enjoy interacting with each and every one of them. 
Some behavioural issues are tough but overall the positives outweigh the negatives easily.

Management bully staff, staff give their all with no recognition. Senior staff who bully gain promotion when staff complain. Last complaint made has seen all staff removed.
