It was good working with Plus Fitness, however, I found that no one was open to constructive criticism. I also was never told what improvement was needed from me. I would have loved to have been advised about how I could get better at my job instead of hearing through the grapevine about what I was doing wrong. I was advised to tell fellow employees about things to work on or to remember for next time but each time I did, my coworkers would become defensive. I tried to give constructive criticism as kindly and with as much reassurance as possible but it was never accepted. I ended up not telling anyone what to improve on because I didn't want to be seen as the 'enemy' which resulted in me having to go over everyone's work to fix it and picking up extra chores that no one else wanted/thought to do. None of this was seen, valued or appreciated because I didn't tell anyone and I felt it was just expected of me. Additionally, because no one wanted to receive advice, no one would ever give it. The workplace became toxic as a result, I burnt out and went looking for a new job.

What I believe I learned:
I’ve developed stronger communication and leadership skills, improved my ability to stay organized under pressure, and learned how to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
Management:
Management is generally supportive and approachable, providing clear expectations and feedback. They encourage growth and are open to suggestions, which creates a positive environment.
Workplace culture:
The culture is collaborative and energetic, with a strong focus on teamwork and helping each other succeed. There’s also an emphasis on delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a friendly atmosphere.
The hardest part of the job:
The biggest challenge is balancing multiple tasks during peak hours while ensuring everything runs smoothly. It can be demanding, but it’s also rewarding.


Working for this company was extremely difficult. Training there was virtually none, but then there would be lots of micro managing on absolute nonsense, ie about level of mopping skills ect, felt very childish and unable to ever satisfy boss. Would backstab all his staff to other staff members. He backstabbed one because he had diabetes! Extremely high turnover of staff- but always staff’s fault and never his horrible personality. My advice would be never work here.
So many staff left I ended up being crèche manager, the only cleaner and doing admin as well. 

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at plus fitness is being able to train before and after work

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There is not much stress, if i had to say anything the wage vs hours is not worth it

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company is good, the people are good and the culture is good

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
All in all there is not much to do,  we clean,  we call potential members and talk with current members,  you could complete your day in a few hours

The days are long and there is no work-life balance due to finishing late. The management do not support it's workers. There is not room for promotion. Management do not support it's staff when dealing with troubled customers. Hardest part of the job is constantly being shouted at by members. You are expected to run the gym all by yourself without support or guidance from management. I enjoyed the rare occasion members were pleasant. The job it's self is simple, but the customer service and constant change in goals do not make working here pleasant.

A fun place to work and taught me a lot of new skills. The other staff were great to work and socialise with. I still enjoy catching up with them.

The environment was well maintained and clean. Overall it was a great place to work that left me with new skills and new friends.

Working for this company mainly for head office was extremely difficult and management there was none and lots of micro management on nonsense felt very childish play ground attitude bosses will boss or threaten your job if certain tasks are not met.

We look after kids in the creche while the parents do a work out, some days are more challenging than others as we are dealing with new borns to 4 year olds but having had 3 kids of my own you are used to it.

Co-workers and Manager super nice and helpful during my time there. I learned a lot which was awesome. I enjoyed doing and learning the admin side of the gym memberships.

Not working currently due to COVID 19. Before COVID 19 the people are great, staff are good.
I did enjoy going to work each day. I enjoyed talking to new members. I have enjoyed helping people with their exercises.
