Platinum Accounting

As an Assistant Investment Consultant (Intern), I work closely with my investment consultant and finance team to give clients the best financial solutions. I meet clients on a daily basis to answer queries and enable them to make financial decisions according to their own unique situations and I work to maintain excellent relationships with them. I also answer a wide range of customer enquiries and use various software programs such as MS PowerPoint to make presentations to both customers and managers.

My experience at Platinum Accounting has honed my communication, organisation and multitasking skills. In this role, I manage my time between assisting a senior investment consultant with maintaining relationships with clients and planning investment strategies, and completing administrative tasks such as compiling customer profiles, overhauling the database and collating market rates using a keen eye for detail.

The platinum accounting company offers internships for $1600. As per rules they cannot charge candidates for unpaid internships hence they give some introductory lessons from accounting. Candidates has to practise on the company's data which is 3-4 years old. There are no job opportunities in the company as they already have professional accountants  working there. 
This internship can be only be useful for non accountants who wants to learn about MYOB and other few accounting processes.

I work 5 days per week

I learned how to solve the problem with difficulty customer, moreover, i learned how to efficiently use the accounting system, like MYOB. 

I can manage my time pretty good.

Our team has 5 people, including senior accountant, contractors.

At very beginning, the hardest part of job is to deal with difficulty customer, but now, i can easily handle this relation.

I worked as an Internal Assistant Accountant at Platinum Accounting Suite 717-718, 38 Gawler Place, Adelaide SA 5000 to gain my experience as an Assistant Accountant. My role has to focus on a variety of tasks including accounts reconciliation, month end reporting, tax compliance: BAS, FBT, PAYG & GST, cash flow reporting and profit and loss analysis. I pay strong attention to details and I have strength in excel (v/look-ups, pivot table and chart).

A good opportunity for graduate students to understand how do accountants work in Australia. There is a well-established training program to help interns to link their theoretical knowledge to practice.

It is a busy office with supportive management. The work there is not always about numbers but how I grow and develop from busy working environment. The most enjoyable pat of the job was working alongside my colleagues and learning from them. Recently, the office started to get busier as more and more referred clients came with tax enquiries.

Learned a lot from my colleagues at Platinum Accounting, they taught me how to use the accounting software MYOB which is widely used by companies nowadays and taught me the advanced Excel functions that can make analysis easier and more efficient.
