The days would typically run the same everyday. We have the planes landing at the allocated times and so we have to set up base on the tarmac ready for land. Working at the airport it really gave me an understanding on how things really work on the ground rather then just looking through the glass trying to catch a flight. 

At the airport the environment is very friendly as it really is a team working job. Everyone assists with jobs when they've completed the allocated positions just to get it done faster and efficiently in which can lead us to have more free time back in office waiting for the next flight and that could be hours later due to any delays. 

Worst thing about working at the airport is the split shifts. You can be doing a 6am to 12pm shift, then having to comeback at 10pm to 2am. Though it is good in way whereas you're not working 9 - 5 Mon to Friday where you can't go to appointments in between those due to they're the working hours.

After a 45 minute drive to work, I have to switch on the screens, computer and phone, open all incoming ail and sort and distribute. Book cars and boardrooms and meeting rooms for relevant employees. Meet and greet clients who have appointments with management. All this whilst answering a phone system that never stops. Co workers are wonderful and really helpful and friendly.
The most enjoyable part of the job for me is meeting new people, chatting, helping the clients and just being busy. I thrive on it. 
I can;t think of a thing don't enjoy about it.

As a shift leader at GYG Perth airport i am manage all the duty of night shift which are sometime difficult to have a balance life and job. Therefore , the job teach me a lot of skill of how to work under pressure and communicate with people from others countries .

Not a very satisfying job, slow repetitive with not stimulating. Prospects of advancement are extremely limited. You would always work alone and have limited contact with work mates.

Recovering from the covid impact so lots of opportunity within the company to upskill. Recently been employing younger crew with little or no experience in the aviation industry, so this is the time to get in.

A typical maintenance routine work, but at a high risk environment, need to be sharp and focus. communication can be stressful to understand, due to the complexity of the whole airport operation, a good 3 years in the environment, will make the job a breeze.

Great people. Great place to work. Need to know your stud and be able to work with minimal supervision. 
Must be able to adapt to changing work timelines to meet operational conditions.

The best part was meeting and spending time with new people of different cultures, places etc everytime
The worst part was 24 hour rotating roster

Great job dealing with the public on a daily basis. Always challenging and interesting. Good variety of tasks from patrols to forecourt activity. Satisfying work helping people.

Just sending taxi's down to the taxi rank at the terninal than when we are busy im on the crosswalk am controlling the traffic and the people going over the crosswalk
