Welshpool depot has mostly old gas buses that break down often and are not fit for purpose. This adds even more stress to an already stressful  job. Timing points are very tight and unrealistic. Always running late. This adds stress. Working split shifts means you are always in heavy traffic. This adds stress.

Only shifts available are split shifts that start around 7 am and finish around 7pm. There is normally almost 6 hour break between morning and afternoon shifts. No good for most of the drivers I had at my depot, but might be suitable for a few people. Available shifts were not discussed during training, but I felt led to believe that there were a variety of shifts on offer.  Don't know anybody in my training class who do anything else but split shifts. Those I spoke with felt misled about shifts.

Pay is ok. Culture is ok. Other drivers always ready to help out when you start. 

Management at the depot was ok. I've seen worse and I've seen better.

15 years of great experience leaning all about buses and driving them was the best and the money was amazing ..

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Umm I’d say it would have to be dealing with ppl’s bad behaviour or busy peak times 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Culture is amazing I meet so many great ppl-..The job environment was quite good every one learnt how to work as a team and allowed everyone’s talents to grow  

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working Sunday’s was always the best days to work and public holidays also

A very good company to work for, good wages but did not like working split shifts week after week.
There were many things I learnt, like, finding your way around a city you've never been to before, it was fun getting lost that first week.
Management were okay but not good under pressure.
My co workers were the best, helpful and kind.
The hardest part was like I said, split shifts week after week, not nice.
The most enjoyable was meeting the people on the bus, the ones you took to work and school and the interaction you had with them, loved it.

Loved the children with this position.  Picking up from Waratah all the way along Ridgley Highway the roadhouse and farms.  The children were wonderful, singing along the way.  The hardest part of this position was the black ice.  Pretty scary sliding across the bridge on not knowing when your bus will pull back. Management was management.  Learned a great deal about black ice and animals running out in front of the bus. A great job, wonderful children and families.

You'll be ok as a bus driver if you can be flexible with work hours,
Know how to handle the stress, Don't make so many or big mistake, happy to be on the road meeting different peoples. With friendly, happy and easy going personality. It's fun and reasonably rewarding work environment. Don't forget to look after your Health or physical and mental wellbeing.

Training is exceptional!

Support from Management is good and co-workers cannot do enough to help.

I worked in three depots and was made welcome in every one.

Initial few months a challenge while getting to know the routes but after that it was an enjoyable job.

The cases of abuse by passengers are very few and far between and there is much support for those affected by it.

Would recommend this job if you were looking for a stable low to moderate income. The full time drivers are expected to work a rotating roster which includes a mix of early morning starts, late finishes and a number of spread shifts which can stretch the working day out to 13-14 hour days

Path transit was a good company to work for but they started to changed management and everyone wanted to be boss
But your bus drivers were your mates also work team that helped each other out and when you know that if you or they got stuck in a situation you were there

Driving buses is all about having the right attitude. You treat people well and generally they treat you well. Required to get along with both Management and your fellow colleagues. Understanding passengers needs. Reading traffic as well as people helps for your trip to run smoothly and on time.
