A typical day of meeting and accomplishing challenges to pick,pack and despatch orders to retailers and wholesalers to schedule.Learned even moreso over my eleven years working at Pacific Brands how working as a team is an accomplishment and gratifying in itself alongside of it being able to be a fun and enjoyable environment to work in.Management was at the majority of times an integral part of such teamwork.Overall being flexible,helpful,encouraging and supportive while always having an empathetic ear to its employees.Throughout my duration at Pacific Brands I worked alongside many people from all walks of life forming not only lasting bonds of comeradrerie but also treasured friendships and a broadened outlook and spectrum of the diversities of people as a whole.The hardest part of the job I would have to say would have had to been the long days over weeks and months even at times when we were pushing to meet despatch deadlines of orders due to the demands.The most enjoyable aspect of the job aside from my co-workers and the overall teamwork environment which goes without saying was when it was accomplished meeting those demands and succeeding to meet despatch deadlines.

Checking emails,entering orders and answering phone enquiries was a typical day at work. I would have to run reports to help the Area Manager and customers with lead time on stock and available of garments and if the information wasn't available I would have to go to other departments for the information.

A couple of years ago we merged with other safety workwear companies and it was enjoyable learning new garment and product information on the different equipment supplied by the other companies.

My co-workers were the most enjoyable people I have worked with in a long time and my Manager was very approachable and easy to talk with.

The hardest part of my job was trying to get the correct information for my customers eg: lead times and available stock information.

I am a team player and enjoy multi-tasking and was alway happy when kept busy. I really enjoyed talking to my customers and trying to help them with their enquiries or if it wasn't available, I would get back to them when I had the correct information.

I commenced with Pacific Brands-Bedding Brisbane, in the position of  Production Planner/Supervisor. Being completely unaware that the Bedding division nationally, was in its death throes and ultimately shut down Australia wide(Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth).

Bedding manufacturing in Australia, performs unlike any other bedding market or operation overseas; in that one third of daily production would be generated by goods sold that same day. 

This system was a recipe for endless machine setups for "oneoff" items, and major waste(lead into and out of quilter 200%). 

Employees worked very diligently to achieve delivers "on time", all to no avail. Some purchased walkie-talkies to communicate with stores workers in order get what was needed at their station to meet schedule, delivery commitments. 

The National Bedding Director, turned over 13 Qld, State Managers in 12 years........

A typical day of work at Pac Brands wasn't particularly hard just long. I learned how to put clothing in boxes, the meaning of KPI's and how to consistently achieve them. 

I thoroughly enjoyed working for Pacific Brands, what i did not enjoy was the management of their agency who hired the casuals, Programmed Integrated.  A very disorganised team, few had any knowledge of what was actually going on and i can understand the reason for them having such a high turn over rate. 

I would highly recommend working for Pacific Brands great pay decent hours its just the unavailability of shifts that were a concern of a lot of casual workers. However, as a casual worker you are to expect this.

Typical day at work was problem solving and meeting contacted deliver KPI's.My time management skills was what I learned was very important to be succesful in the job role.Management and co workers were OK ,I think everyones agenda's were very tight so there was not a lot of inter personal interaction.Hardest part of the job was maintaining a professional approach to deliver a very high standard your clinents expected from Pacfic Brand employees. Most enjoyable part of the job was been succesful in delivering a large profitable order for the company you work for.

Production Management of up to 90 machinists in fast paced manufacturing plant 
Production scheduling of 6 JIT lines plus 4 feeder lines
Setting daily targets for production teams
Designating human resources maximise plant efficiency
Purchasing trims
Coordinating product to be sent to external suppliers i.e screen printers & embroiderers.
Liaising with external cutting facility (interstate).
Co-workers worked cohesively as a highly efficient team.
Mediating and resolving personality conflicts within the team.

Constant change with management and negative work environment made it  challenging to wake up for work every morning.  The only good thing about working at Pacific Brands was learning about all the new daily "work goss" and drama because it was quite entertaining. Leadership was extremely poor with confidential discussions being shared around. Would think twice if this is the company you would want to work with.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Not Much . Maybe the discount on Bonds if you like Bonds stuff

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The requirement to work 10-12 hours with no extra pay

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very poor . Most people cant wait to leave . turn over is high

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stress stress and more stress. Bullying occurs every day

Our day would start with a team meeting where we were informed of the days requirements.
We learnt about how each store has there own way of how they wanted there orders packed.
Management were good to work with.
Worked well in a team.
Hardest part of the job was the manual handling by the end of the day tired.
Knowing that we achieved our goals for the day and the customers got there orders

In the warehouse where I used to pick pack, the majority of co-workers were great but I believe discrimination exists there unfortunately.  Meaning, the way they evaluate performance and promote individuals is not always fair. 

It is ok for people who can tolerate that nonsense!!
