They don't put animals first here especially the fish! Horrible management that don't care about there staff and there complaints! Sends out of date food then blames us when we have too much out of date food. The "app" that's not an app got released too early had to many issues with paid memberships that wouldn't work and no one was in the office on the busy weekend where most things would go wrong! Leaving there staff to face the brunt of there mistakes! Also not enough budget to have 2 staff members on at a time so would need to close store to eat and do Banking customers would complain a lot! When I got a delivery I was the one that needed to get it out not 1 walkie stackie training....just thrown in the deep end with angry truck drivers rushing me while also have angry customer in the store wondering why I can't serve! There's lots more but 1 more thing no music honestly the customers hated how quiet it was you can imagine how the staff that where there from 8.50-5.40 felt......

Terrible communication  with stores or area managers.

If you even try to put your life or family first you will be dropped like a hot rock.

Forget having any input to improve your store's success or stock on hand.
This company's sole goal is expansion, not embracing store growth or supporting their existing stores or clientele.
They won't even keep the shelves full for stores that do well.

You will beg for stock, plead or bargain but no,  your customers take a back seat to "progress".
If you want to drive sales or promotions, forget it. 

If you want a career, look elsewhere.



Fantastic customers and products available. This was my first job and I would recommend starting out here, you will learn a lot.
The Head Office can be slow but they are reliable. Managers are generally really good. but there are some you really need to watch out  for because once they don't like you there's no going back and they will make your days hell. Most people are easy to get along with and you will always have fun with them.

Clean/Feed animals, serve customers, answer queries, replenish stock. Learned more about products and animals.
Store Management not approachable or trustworthy.
Co-workers mostly excellent.
Hardest part of the job would be difficult customers.
The most enjoyable part  was being able to interact with the animals on a daily basis.

Starts off good and very quickly ends up being a S*** show, understaffed and training is very vague with little to no assistance when needed. This could be an excellent job and company if they focused on their current stores needs over the many brand new stores being opened.

No career growth, expected to go above and beyond while not being paid the correct amount. No training what so ever with very little help from higher management. 

usually good, clean tanks, animal cages, feed and water. sweep, mop, customer service. very warm environment .

long hours and heavy lifting make it important to wear proper shoes and clothes to complete tasks safely and efficiently.

Very little transparency throughout the company. 'Support office' talk down to staff. Higher up never follow through with help for improvement.
Communication is awful.
Zero care of person/work life balance

being a casual at pets domain requires a great deal of flexibility and availability, and its not a glorified animal industry, you need to be prepared for normal work duties, including customer service, cleaning and stock inventory

I love making conversation with the customer, that why when they come in you either know how to help or able to have the items ready for them if the customer is unable to carry or manage the product on their own
