High turn over of staff speaks for itself. People don’t stay. HR and Management are oblivious  to the toxic culture and actual feed it. Only people who advance are people who are friends of the managers or HR. Training is non existent and people are placed into roles they are not suitable for. Wasted food is absolutely disgusting. Mainly due to employees who don’t care. Would never recommend this place as anything other than something to do until something better comes along. One of the Stupidest decision Management made, all their wisdom, was to spend money on updating the picture painted on the front of the building when the safety of staff is at risk every time it rains due to the roof leaking in multiple locations…

During my time at Patties Foods, I primarily worked on mixing dough and party batches. While the camaraderie among colleagues was generally positive and the compensation satisfactory, the working conditions presented challenges. Management showed laxity in addressing ergonomic concerns, particularly regarding aids for maneuvering heavy loads of dough in the sizable mixing bowls, some weighing up to 500kg. Moreover, frequent breakdowns in essential equipment, such as the hopper responsible for dispensing flour into the mixing bowls, hindered workflow consistency.

Regrettably, I found limited prospects for career advancement within the company. Despite these drawbacks, my experience at Patties Foods provided valuable insights into the food production industry

What is the best part of working at the company?
Pros: Employees can have free pies, and it taste yummy.

Cons: The company doesn't want to be a second job, but they don't give enough shift (I got less than 10 hours per week), sometimes even no work at all.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Less hours, uncertain position, strict time of break (only 1x15 mins break for 6 hours of work). Sometimes work in production, sometimes in packaging (less hour in packaging)

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Actually, the people are nice.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy day is Monday and Tuesday

Everyday working at this company was like the first day they were open for business. Most of the time they were unorganised. There were a lot of great people there and I became friends with them. Patties has a long to go on how they treat their employees and a short way to solve the problems.

Patties Foods are trying to cling to a family culture that is slowly declining as the corporate responsibilities fall into place. The values,
inclusion and diversity, and ethics of the company are very good. The company is now being sold to an equity organisation so what that will mean for the future of these standards is an unknown.

Not given the opportunity for Full-time.
Very repetitive work.
Hot and cold environment.
Work place culture sucks!
Some workers were ok.
Hardest part of job was keeping up on the lines and working with staff that didn't perform well.


Orginial management team on site was incredible but they all left in September last year, I have since moved on because new management are horrible people. Many people have left including shift managers because of the toxic culture since new managers took over. Sad. 

Poor culture. HR out of touch, old school and with limited programs.
Focussed on production, quality and sales . No due diligence or proper understanding with regard to safety.

Lots of stressful projects that took important focus away from day to day operations. Leading to many errors in costing and logistics. Great and challenging working environment - I learned a lot about the different manufacturing sites.

Overall quite a good place to work. Plenty of opportunity to do good work, and work closely with other teams. Internal politics and hierarchy can be frustrating and tiresome. Heavy workload, with expectations to be available out of hours
