I enjoyed my work at Ozcare, well organized Organization, training up to date, Clients needs based ,variety of work, cultures and clients.
Great teamwork while also working in the community unsupervised.
Salary was fair and weekend penalties applied.
A typical day at work was driving from client to client meeting the requirements of the care plan for that day, whether it was personal hygiene, meal preparation, respite, outings, medication prompts etc
I learned that everybody is different,they need to be made to feel special,that they need to be encouraged and motivated to get the best out of every day, also they like to see a smiling face.
The only time I saw my co-workers was at inservices or where there was two of us required to shower or hoist a client.I got on with all the co-workers that I encountered.
The hardest part of the job was there was never enough time to fulfill all their needs and that we had to have good time management skills.
The most enjoyable part of the day was to see a happy, smiling client whose day was made brighter by my having visited them.

Ozcare was a great company to work for. There was a large amount of ongoing training was both interesting and helpful. A typical day at work was to arrive at a client's home, greet them and clean their bathroom, vacuum, mop and any other jobs required within the time limitation. I particularly enjoyed the company of the elderly clients who were always grateful for the work done. The hardest part of the job for me was the physical exertion, being used to office work all my life. However I had a good workout every day. The staff met on regular occasions for meetings and to exchange feedback and to get extra advice from the managers. The managers were extremely supportive and keen to have a good job done for the clients. This job is one that you did on your own. In this job I learned that elderly people are great to converse with however care is needed with them in many aspects as they are vulnerable and look to you for support.

Working at this company was the worst year of my life. 
When the heavy work load and stress got to much for me, I tried to approach my managers on many occasions to voice my concerns. The only reply I received was a blunt 'whatever' when I told my mangers about the stress and not being able to cope. 

The reply I got from my managers put me off a job that I loved and found very rewarding. 

After no action taken by my managers, a few weeks later I had a mental breakdown and was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. I was subsequently fired because of this. 
My two managers sat in a room with me and watched me cry trying to explain my concerns with no empathy and then walked away while I tried to talk to them about the steps I had taken to get better. 

Oz Care need to train their managers on how to deal with staff and more importantly, other human beings. Just promoting people from the field isn't good enough.

Responsible for staff training and development and updating internal manuals. Pathology collections, including venipuncture, aterial blod gases and other pathology requests from hospital patients, home patients and outpatients fro main laboratory. Receipting of specimens into the laboratory including verifying correct details of packaging, unpacking, checking details of specimens and requesting forms and adding on additional test requests where appropriate. Scheduling appointments, Reception duties and accounts receivable and liaising with cliets, external clents , laboratory staff and phlebotomists. Learning skills achieved were, Phlebotomy, all duties as above. Hardest part of job was collecting blood from newborns. Most enjoyable part of job was interaction with clients and other health professionals.

Love cleaning? Love looking after complex clients for respite? Love not getting paid proper casual wages for public holidays? Then this is the company for you. If you don’t agree to work extra hours they cut your hours drastically on the pretence that full time staff haven’t taken leave. Most clients are amicable but there are those that are difficult and you will be kept being sent back there. Only yes people will survive in this job. It is mentally and physically draining especially cleaning on hot humid days. You may be lucky if you get a unpaid half hour break, usually a 10 minute paid break, but if you’re running late you drive to the next client through your paid break to catch up. You have been warned.If you work a public holiday you will be paid the same lower rate as a permanent staff member, no casual loading if you are a casual due to their EBA.

As long as you keep your head down and don’t say anything you’re fine. Management is rude and confrontational making the staff turn over ridiculous. In saying this there are so many shifts available you can pick when you want to work and there is always work available. In saying that there is never enough staff to get jobs done in a safe timely manner and you’re always in a rush. As a student they are good at letting you get time off for placements and studying.. I would say join a union so you know your rights, go in for the residents and don’t expect a lot of help because often there’s no time. 

I liked the fact that the job and clients varied and the time spent with each client could be 15 mins to several hours. I learned a lot from the clients themselves, they would advise me how they liked things done and what they expected for the time you were allocated. I enjoyed taking to all the different types of people I came in contact with and sometimes found it hard to stay on schedule. Sometimes the jobs were close together and at other times there was a fair bit of driving involved, which I enjoyed. I learned that even the grumpiest client could be nice just by showing some respect and compassion.

I was the Office Manager and along with my team, we provided support to other services within the organisation.  On a daily basis, it was important to prioritise and communicate with eachother to achieve our goals. I learnt to delegate more and recognise the importance of upskilling my team.  The hardest part of my job was recognising the importance of not taking on too much.  Everyday was different, some good and others challenging.  I thrive on challenges and multi-tasking, I try to bring the best out of people and  not afraid to think outside the box.

A typical day starts with waiting in line to sign on as staff finishing their shift are signing off.  Staff can be allocated to work anywhere in the facility.  The hardest part of the job is not knowing who I am working with and dealing with difficult staff personalities.  The most enjoyable part of the job is receiving a smile and appreciation.  Importantly, but sadly this is mostly from the residents I assist, occasionally from the supervisor and at no time from management.

Not organised. No communication between office staff.

Field staff and some office staff (who have been in the field) amazing

Busy then not busy. Told not enough hours but then always saying they are short staffed.
