At the start they were alright. But then, thry would isolate you from group activities as “ punishment “ if you didnt hit their work goal. Lets say,  they make a plan to head down to an area - Toowoomba. Because they have heard that there you can get heaps more people to sign up to their donations. 
You only hear of this on the Thursday but everyone else has known that from the monday. A manager pulls you aside and tells you that because you havent been doing well, if you dont get 5 more people to sign up by tomorrow you wont be going to  Toowoomba to further get more people to sign up. The workmates all end up going to Toowoomba, you dont , and thus you get no hours the following week because everyone else went to Toowoomba. 
LOL.


Is better to know a bit more about this company before you are getting this job. 

Is good that you will get to see different people everyday, but most of the people will say "NO" to you and at the end of the week if you can't reach your targets they will fire you.

Almost everyday you will get to work in different location and it could be really far away sometimes, such as 2 hrs from train. 

This job can be very fun sometimes, but same time can be very stressful. Such as if they put you in a bad location to work on that day but they still expect you can reach the targets.

a job in marketing selling charitable direct debits, a typical day at work was speak to customers door to door, from the job I learnt even more speed and how to be hard working. The management was good it helped us work as part of a team, I can also work independently. Me and my co-workers got on really well. The hardest part of the job I found was listening to the speech in the morning from the management when I just wanted to start my job. The most enjoyable part of the job is when I got more sales then other people in my dad it made me feel good about myself.

A typical day at Oxfam is usually interesting with new learning and experience. There is so much to read and analyse based on organizational experience of implementing development programs and projects in different parts of the globe. The work environment is flexible and there is a culture of mutual respect and understanding. Its always inspirational to meet colleagues and chat on personal and professional matters.

I enjoyed doing volunteering with them, they gave me the experience i needed operating a forklift and was about to move around and do different jobs within the warehouse and admin. 
During christmas I was pretty much flat chat with pick and packing of orders, I was also working in Admin organising paperwork and data entry. plus i was helping out with dispatch and receiving, Quality Control and general housekeeping duties. 

Co workers were great to work with and we all got along

My job was with an Oxfam Shop in Australia and entailed sales, customer service, cash handling, unpacking, merchandising, restocking, cleaning, banking, stock control, receipting of goods etc. 

As with all work who you work with can change the atmosphere but for the most part it was an incredibly lovely job to be in, great co-workers, great customers and overall everyday you do feel like you're doing something positive for other people.

Though I have worked for Oxfam in the freelance basis, in my time with them I gathered a wealth of satisfying experiences in regards to my professional field. I had the satisfaction to know my work was directed at important programs addressing much needed assistance in Australia and other parts of the world.
The most enjoyable part of the work is sharing experiences with colleagues and programs benefits recipients.

The organisation has operating systems and policies which guide the staff and stakeholders for accountability to achieve its mission. 
The staff are guided by this procedures and create friendly working environment.

I learnt how to perfect a daily work process even when new people had to join the task. Most shifts of mine ran from 9 to 5 or 7 to 12. The culture of the job was filled with kind individuals who all wanted to help others and a charitable organisation. The most enjoyable part was the long term friendships I have made. 

Quite busy work environment but still fun to work.
Easy going manager and meeting new people almost every month as it is a volunteer based organisation.
No jobs are secure as it is a non-profitable organisation.
It is hard not knowing about now many volunteer workers will be available day to day.
Most of the jobs are done manually which makes it exciting and fun.
