What is the best part of working at the company?
The support you get from HQ and area managers…the format and rules that they implement within the communities is a winner, they have really done their homework 👍

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Dealing with the locals in the community when they chose to be aggressive and harm our staff, or expecting workers to turn up but they don’t 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
The company is great compared to many other company’s. Set protocols from the start with a strong support system, invoicing and IT communication is less stressful than other companies . So some decent comradary.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Maintaining protocols and work ethics with the locals…training them with an idea of allowing them to work their way up the ladder. 
Making sure all stock is kept in correct temps, orders are made, stock is restocked,  safety with duty of care to staff.
Sales and maintenance on the floor are implemented each day. Good produce and quality  was paramount.
Tasks all completed and a strong lockup system is required, alarmed and hopefully a good nights rest 👍

Probably the better one out of the two big ones.  A bit of a club with their favourite managers. Alot of egos from certain managers. You will be controlled with what stock to carry and how the store should be run. Not really managers but Store caretakers. You get critisied from people in head office who no nothing about working in remote communities. 

More interested in how they look rather than looking after the commu ity. The pay has not changed in years and is well under what should be paid. 

Alot of promises yet never deliver. They don't want to hear about how things can be improved, yet always desperate for staff due to their arrogance. New staff are never trained on how to handle fights, break ins, threats etc from some community members 

Outback stores allowed myself as a store manager to run the business as though it was my own. This allowed me to manage my own stock holdings and overheads which are paramount to the business.
Working with Indigenous staff was a great learning curve for me and it is something i will never forget.
The hardest part of the job was the isolation but then that had its own benefits.
The most enjoyable part of the job was working as a team as i believe in working on the coal face with my team. When the shop had a good week we all had a good week.
The other most enjoyable aspect of the store was taking the business from trading in the red to trading in the black.
 That alone was like winning lotto !

Interesting work environment, busy but lots of fun times, great people to work with and the Company cared for its staff

Workload can get high so prioritising is essential

Hard work and busy but also fun. I found management looked after staff welfare

Busy, varied, social with a few laughs

There needs to be more cultural awareness training in relation to getting the job done on the ground. On community. There are allot of cultural taboos one must navigate.  

Liked working for store manager.  Learned to work in a team environment in a isolated community.  Most enjoyable part of this job was providing great customer service and ensuring that customers were satisfied.  Hardest part of the job is trying to stay proactive when there is nothing to do.

The challenges are abound where we are tasked to face various challenges that comes with working in the community . We are engaged with the community development , training locals on the job. 

terrible experience, didnt get paid and the shop was always getting robbed.

it was in the Northern Territory so the only people that were allowed to get paid are the Aboriginal workers which is fair in a way but it meant i was stuck working for free

Hard work not recognised training not given. Unless you have done this before do not do. Promise things but do not deliver. The pros are the people in the community you work for.

The challange of bringing a better choice and healthier options to the Aboriginal Communities. To train the staff in all aspects of the daily running of the store.
