I've since left the company.
I had high hopes initially thinking about how OTR is one of SAs largest companies.
walking into what I thought would be a 1 on 1 interview I was surprised to be ushered into a room with approx 30-40 other applicants (about half being recent immigrants). one of the first things that was asked was if we interested in signing up for a traineeship. I went over the contract and it seemed alot lower in pay than I expected when I had friends working at other petrol stations in Adelaide at the time. it was then implied that if we didn't accept the traineeship then my interview would have been 'unsuccessful' and one of the other 30+ applicants would have taken the job.
fast forward a few months into the job; training was close to non existant, having met my OTR 'training rep' once to sign papers saying I was progressing thru a non existent module.
in just over 6 month I decided to leave after the realisation that my traineeship equated to no further job prospects in the future and a fair entitlement scheme on offer at other places ie paid overtime, weekend award rates etc. 
I've since formed the opinion over the last 8 or so years that this would have to be the worst company possible to work for.
the way that the ownership/ management flash their wealth around - parking their Ferraris and Bentleys out the front of HQ - whilst paying their workers the absolute bare minimum is an absolute disgrace.
I worked at one of their larger metro sites which admittedly involved a lot more running around with little time for breaks. 
parents be warned - don't let your kids start their working life of here 
adults - don't waste your time mate, unless you wanted to be treated like cheap and paid like it aswell

The job is very less pay for a trainee, i get like a couple dollar more than OTR's minimum wage on WEEKENDS, and like they would underpay me on weekdays if i was working

The job involves heavy liftings, and mine involves another gross thing. But really just these two things i hate about doing on my shifts.

Its very easy to get a job here as they are technically underpaying trainees.

Most of the people at my work are school dropouts like any other fast food workplace

my job is very unsocial, so i hate this, i dont get to talk much with people, like 95% of my whole time i am alone by myself doing job independently outside. 

the good thing is i can take the job easy and my manager won't really care as long as i am not doing any act of stupidity. e.g. a 2-minute task, i can do in like 4 minutes, most of the times and manager wont really stress too much on me. But i complete 90% of my jobs well before the expected time.

I'd recommend this job only if you are not being selected as a trainee even though they say you get increase in salary every year like only 50 cents though.

i really liked my old manager, as was really nice

on the run is the kind of environment you wouldnt want to work in, its the type of workplace where its full on all the time all hours of the day, because it is a supermarket and also a service station. You hardly have enough time to have a break and if you do have a break you have to be quick. There was hardly any staff. Mostly there was also techincal difficulties with the machines and there wouldn't be the managers around to fix because they were either busy with payrolls. The reason i left on the run was because i was on a contract for them to train me about the whole store and what to fix and what to do but they never got around to training me and only training the new staff. The hardest part of the job would have been fixing the carwash and fixing the computer system.

The part i did enjoy about the whole job was making coffees, selling Sa lottery tickets, Smokemart. The co-workers wern't as dedicated to the job as i was and didn't really have a positive attitude to the customers, also most customers would always say hello to me and ask how i was, But the staff was short and the staff wouldn't help the problems that needed to be fixed.

Working on an Organisation itself is a challenging though enjoyable experience altogether which comes through the experience and the working environment where we work.I BELIEVE THAT AS A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE I AM PRESENTING MYSELF TO CUSTOMER AS MY ORGANISATION AS A MIRROR WHERE I AM WORKING. I enjoyed working throgh my work though it is true we had hard days and good days...but in a situation how u tackle it with the help of your staff and managment along with the policy and values of the company is what more important.Once I identify a customer who had taken some food without paying on the counter and i call on the customer to show me the receipt and mean while i asked my co worker to inform the situation to manager and check the CCTV footage to confirm that.We finally found that he was guilty of what he done.It was a great day for me ,all my co-workers along with managment staff stood with me and appreciated my work for the Organisation.

If offered a full time position Mon-Fri this company is okay to work for however what usually happens is you are offered no guarantee for minimum hours unless you opt for a traineeship in which you earn the lowest of the low dollar amount regardless of being of age. You don't get penalties for working graveyards shift and penalties on the weekend are only a couple of dollars, as well as Christmas Day which is definitely not worth missing your family for.
The team members who are favourites always get their way and the rest are thrown under the bus. Upper management does not care for people, only about getting richer so line management is so stressed they take it out on their staff. 
In this job I had no work/family life balance where as others were catered for such as only work school hours. There was no consistency or reliability for me week to week. 
I hope this company does not expand out of South Australia.

the people I worked with were great, however working midnight to dawn o $10.00 an hour  on week nights and $11.00 on weekends aren't so good, neither is the fact that I had to do it all on my own, I felt unsafe and was always worried that someone would come in a harm me and I would have no one there to help me. I do not recommend working here if you are studying as you have a set amount of hours a week to work and they aren't rotating, I was in university and my grades dropped dramatically because I was so mentally and physically exhausted from over working, I would work all night (10pm-8/9am) head straight to my classes and come back straight to work for a few hours home to rest to do it all again.

The company has a good career path and is very supportive to individuals who want to advance their career and skills. The company follows a standardized operation in maintaining order in the store and is able to transfer this skill easily to new members. Co-workers are great to work with.

Everyone who works here is only here to pay the bills. It's easy to get a job here because they're pay you about $8-14 an hour on a compulsory traineeship. Be kind to all of the staff who work here because they're putting up with a lot. My only problem with the job is the company.

Horrible people to work for.
Expected to do unpaid work time for beginning and end of shift when I told them I don't work for free and stopped working when they stopped paying I found myself going from day shifts at one site to doing drag shifts at a different site every single night. Workers are nothing more than dollar signs out the window for the Shahins.

no loyalty to staff coming off 6 months leave leave as site manager come back as part time with out hours just off 7 yrs prorate no actual meal breaks even for 16 hr days as manager
