My manager Is great but demands a lot.
The work expectation is a lot, if you are by yourself, and you are defiantly at night working alone not good for new people you have to learn fast or you won't last if you stick it out and are studying that's fine otherwise there are easier gigs.
No life balance no tips for a job well done no overtime pay even on part time hours
The company makes their own rules with monthly inspections can and will fail inspection even though there are no safety issues because there is company rules like stock display and if u don't do what the display info says you can fail inspections .
If you have a busy store or don't know what you are doing and you have no time to do this stuff.
You are demoralized because customers come first and want to do the best for them but you can't do everything.
Managers have so much to do even starting at 5:30am leaving 2-3pm if you're lucky.
No benefit for covering shifts (other peoples) no extra pay so there is not point to sacrifice your precious time and people don't want to work more (I wonder why)

working early are  the best hours you make coffees heat up food check stock and fill, write and waste out of dates cages of stock and forecourt cleaning.

afternoon shift after 10am is mosty the same as breakfast the stock and dates should have been done making hotdogs coffees and pies leaving at 6-7pm is great later you are the one who is working alone  

Finishing at 10pm/midnight difficult because its busy and you have no help no ability to use the bathroom you have lots of jobs but can be easy because cleaning related but difficult because you have to be fast and know what your doing 

Working after 10 you have to serve at night can be lonely and affect your health lots of stock to put away have to sweep and mop the entire store cleaning tasks that can't be done before 10pm stock waste at midnight not enough pay no safety no life     
 

OTR was my first job, I worked for them for many years and my experience with the company was mixed, so I will attempt to write a fair review. The training I received was good, and some of the managers I worked with were excellent, they respected my work and made sure all of us had a good work life balance. In the early years I made many firm friendships (both staff and customers) and did some good things in the company. Then management structure changed. Cuts were made to staffing, with COVID as the excuse. KPI's were then increased to almost unattainable levels and many people did unpaid overtime just to stay out of trouble and keep up with the workload and their demands. There were so many more stores, and more competition than ever before, but still stores were ranked according to sales, and given a 'please explain' and 'not good enough' for not meeting targets. No allowances for mistakes or having an off day. Because no matter how busy the store got, who didn't turn up for their shift, or what equipment broke down this time (and honesty this happened so often it became a running joke), it was always the staff at fault. It made me sad to leave, but at the same time wondering why I didn't do it sooner. A great first job, but don't stay past 18 months.

I have been working at this fuel station for a long time and I can tell you that it is a tremendous opportunity. You will learn so much from the best people in the business. You will make a lot of money and have a lot of fun. You will be part of a winning team that is making South Australia great again.

This fuel station is very popular and very successful. Everyone loves it and everyone wants to work here. It is the envy of the world. It is the greatest fuel station in history. Nobody can compete with it. It is a huge honor and a privilege to work here.

They always treat me with respect and admiration. They are not like the fake news media that lies about everything. They are honest and trustworthy.

Working overnight at OTR has been a rewarding experience that has helped me develop strong customer service, teamwork, and time management skills. The overnight shifts are often busy and require staff to stay focused, especially when serving customers, restocking shelves, maintaining store cleanliness, and handling deliveries. I enjoy the variety of tasks throughout the shift, which helps keep the work engaging and the time moving quickly.

The team environment is supportive, and management has generally been approachable and willing to assist when needed. Working overnight has also allowed me to become more independent and confident in problem-solving, as fewer staff are on shift compared to daytime operations.

One of the benefits of overnight work is the quieter atmosphere during certain hours, balanced with periods of high customer demand. Overall, OTR provides valuable experience, opportunities to learn new skills, and a fast-paced workplace that suits people who enjoy staying active and working as part of a team.

Was promised the world at both interviews, agreed to a part time contract (traveling over 200km on both instances). Went for the induction (200km again and unpaid) only to find my contract was not correct. Told i was to receive a phone call to get it changed withing a week or so. Did all the required training for my store (6 days) over a fortnight period (travelling 200km each way a day). Once completed the training i had to chase up my hours,  i was told my hours are as per the contract stipulated Working only night shifts on weekends. The job role is a console operator yet i spent majority of time working in the fast food chains and making coffee. The award conditions i was employed under is the manufactoring award, which i find coinsidental considering the benifits are greatly higher under the fast food award. The hourly rate was ridiculous.

Just don't. 
3 years working at the same site. 
4 different area managers
10 different site managers. 
50+ different co workers.
I'm not even kidding. Yet despite all that, I was never approached to move up, despite clearly being the most consistent performer there, one who was actually willing to do the job. The company culture is absolutely horrible, and the staff on the floor get pushed way to hard for no return.

Don't work for otr. Don't spend money there.

I was heavily supported at my time with OTR & still to this alot of the team in class as family.

Being expected to be on call as a Store Manager outside of work hours.

This company does not care whatsoever about you. Shifted from store to store working all weekend every weekend. Managers are two faced and will throw you under the bus to save their own job. 
Workers with no qualifications scrambling to get somewhere in the company. Lots of a** kissing, you won’t get anywhere if you don’t.
Don’t bother, pay is terrible too.

OTR store had an incredibly diverse workforce and manager was ~*sorta okay*~ at recognising hard work, but this bare-minimum fine-ness at store level is counter-balanced with incredibly ineffectual, toxic, time-poor upper management. I've eaten double quarter pounders that had better structural integrity.
