Novaskill is a great place to work - the team are friendly and everyone gets to work a 9 day fortnight!! The staff have a great camaraderie and you get rewarded for what you put in, with lots of opportunity for promotion at every site. I genuinely enjoy coming to work each day and thoroughly enjoy what I do - we get young people into work and help them get through their qualification and/or trade, such great job satisfaction. There is a strong representation of females in the management team and the team is very inclusive, plus there is always someone there to assist if you need help. Everyone chips in to get things done and everyone multi-tasks, so you get to learn a lot!! A really great place to work.

Great staff and many opportunities to advance made Novaskill a pleasure to work for. I had the freedom to mould my position to suit my strengths and the opportunity to work with a diverse range of dedicated and experienced staff. 

Professional Development Programs assisted me in identifying personal strengths and weaknesses and set short and long term goals, Internal Support Programs were available for personal and professional assistance and monthly birthday celebrations and internal marketing campaigns bough our teams closer together socially.

I been here at Novaskill for over ten years and I love working here I still enjoy coming to work each day. We have a 9 day fortnight, Sisterhood committee who support women in the workforce, Charity committee who is passionate about helping and supporting the community, pay above in super, we also have a partnership with Medibank if you wish to take out health cover and much more. We have some really great staff and we love seeing trainees develop careers here obtaining a qualification. We have had lots of staff win awards for their work at a region level and state level. A lot of the long standing staff members has started as a trainee here.

Please don’t work for them. Grubby tactics to divide staff, misleading management. Unqualified executive including the finance team. No consultation when making decisions.
In my experience run far away from this mob. If you’re “not the right fit” you will be managed out using underhanded tactics. For your mental health and well being don’t even apply. They have an appalling track record relating to staff turnover. In 12 months I experienced about 10 new people come and go for a range of reasons but then usually let go just before probation ends.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It was the other staff until they all got sacked during covid.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Lack of appreciation for work and skills

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
There was a culture of us and them between management and other staff.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Working independantly as a trainer but being paid office staff wages

I had my doubts about working at Novaskill but thought I’d see for myself. Should’ve listened to my gut as it’s a terrible place to work. For a training company all they care about is $$$. Little training for staff and treat  people like diet. . No communication and too many chiefs that make their own rules. 
Hard to stay motivated in a company where there’s non team culture  and lack of communication. 
Go elsewhere for your training needs

Typical day: responding to emails, enrolling students, Cold calling businesses. 
What i have learnt: Alot, all acronyms, different courses we offer, what is GTO.
Management: Always helpful
Workplace: Great team environment
Hardest part: is being in the office, coming from hospitality background i have always been on my feet. Need to get out more and talk to businesses just need more marketing materials.
Enjoyable: some employees, work environment, support from management. Positive feedback. 

You are treated well if you are in sales. Trainers however are treated like dirt. Too many chiefs and not enough indians. Too top heavy. Ego heavy senior managers with no idea about training. Management style well suited to the 1950’s. Bully staff and keep them stressed is the way they motivate. Horrible culture. Shameful as they have some great staff on the ground. Nepotism. Managers moto “its all smoke and mirrors”! So much turn over. Fear And legal threats are management tools.

Thrown a bucket full of previous employees issues and problems to solve. Had great experiences for a while until the left hand did not know what the right hand was doing in middle management. Lied to and treated like dirt by people that had no idea what they were doing. It was a shame that people on the very top listen to the lies they are feed. Well I hope that you get what you deserve
