Best thing: family first. Drop your work if you need to take care of family related stuff. Working at Cadia in the tech services is not too stressful, there’s pressure but there is a ‘leave it for next week’ kind of attitude. It becomes too cliquey with the group of people who are ‘long-termers’ in the company.  It is not too diverse as well—well they claim they are inclusive—but they are really not under the surface.

They think they’re the best mine to work at but just ask for the turn over rates in their workforce.

pre starts on lv's daily inspection's on open cut fleet machines eg wa1200 loader 1850lt terex redrill drill rigs and dmag shovel services on req equipment oil sampling crack testing fit out of parts setting up safe working areas for maintance work liaising with senior management and parts suppliers managing personnel and providing correct documentation for swp jesa etc and working to deadlines

Working for Newcrest was one of the most enjoyable workplaces i have ever worked at.
As a contractor I felt that i had a voice,management listened to ideas and implemented many suggestions put forward by employees.
Nothing was ever to hard. As a female working in a predominantly male industry i was expecting a little negativity from male employees but to my surprise it never happened in fact the opposite was true.

There is a definite habit at Newcrest to put a women into the senior role even if they have no knowledge of gold mining. This was seen on many occasions. Departmental silo's and lack of communication between each other a frustration. Managers and Superintendents spend their time together rather than mentoring staff. 

Work place has no canteen and toilets are disgusting. Water is provided that's it.

7 days on can sometimes be a bit stressful

The crew I work with are great and my boss is very helpful 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy but time goes quicker .The focus on safety is great

Worst job atmosphere. Unproessional and unreliable. Equipment is old and outdated. No staff room to eat. Kitchen is in the middle of the office.  You have to eat at your desk. No one seems to know what is going on. Was never introduced to my supervisor or even told the supervisors name. Was guided by two junior administrators who were extremely unprofessional to say to the least. 

Good crew - hot - learned about crushers conveyers feed shoots falcons gold room equipment float cells cyclones all fixed plant on a gold mine. management ok most of the time. good crew. The heat. night shift great crew and what i learned. There was a big oval a golf tee driving range lawn bowls indoor cricket squaeh courts pool darts swimming pool and a great roster.

Operate haul truck efficiently. Input at daily meeting and safety report. Complete on daily basis equipment prestarts, See stop control, hazard reports, peer group observation.
Management approachable and listens to my observations.
I work with an excellent and cohesive crew which makes my job easy.

Wake up at 4:00 am
Hope on bus at 5:00 am
Safety meeting at 5:30 am
Start driving trucks at 6:00 am
Lunch and refuel through middle of the day.
Hop on the bus home and be fed showered and asleep by 8 pm

Rinse and repeat for 1 week then swap over for night shift.

To provide technical support and training to the Underground Technical Support team by completing allocated tasks associated with the following disciplines:
