I enjoy my work at Neumann's. The day typically starts with a brief handover from the night shift fitter and then on to the pressing maintenance needs of the day. The crew is divided into 'shift' and 'other work' with the shift fitter acting as 'triage' and first response to any breakdowns of production equipment. I find this to be very satisfying work as it requires a good balance of knowledge, trade skills and human interaction which I enjoy. The working day tends to fly by and at the end of the day there are generally satisfied production staff and and other jobs completed as required. There is an excellent variety of work including equipment repairs, fault diagnosis and repair, design and construction of new equipment and continuous improvement challenges.

Role involved the day to day running of a tensile steel and plastics test laboratory at a level of maintaining industry standards, maintaining and the calibration of all testing equipment. The recording of test data and reporting results to executive management. 
I was part of a 4 person team led by the Compliance manger which involved me in many different areas including health and safety. My role had high work load as I was responsible for the purchasing and supply for PPE and uniforms throughout the company. 
Over all an interesting and demanding job providing the opportunity to interact with the majority of the personnel in the company.

Mesh & Bar Shop are the most populated places to work within Neumann Steel Currumbin.
All new employee's are appointed " Buddy trainers " upon commencing to work on the many various machines within these departments until becoming competent operators.
Safety is a high priority.

Very Well Managed. good balance between life and work, zero drugs and alcohol tolerance which makes for a safe workplace, teamwork certainly made the dream work there.

People are great but very slow in picking up new skills and technology. Hard get old-time staff to change and do new things. Maybe too relaxed as I worked for a lot more organised companies. 

Great people in a relaxing work environment. Free lunch every friday and everyone is great to have a yarn at.

Some managers still haven't converted to the relaxed style.

This is a grate place to work and I wish I ident have an operation that forced me to stop employment there.  If I had the opportunity I would go back working there if they had a suitable job for me

Some great people and unfortunately some awful people in roles they are not qualified or any good at. Pay rates are low. Work can be interesting at times.

They expect you to make diamonds from coal and pay you with dirt. Didn't get a pay rise in 4 years as they always cried broke at that time of year. Just a really cheap place to work
