What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The most stressful part about working at NeNe Chicken was managing the rush periods, especially during peak hours when orders came in quickly and consistently. It required staying focused, working efficiently under pressure, and maintaining clear communication with the team. That said, the strong teamwork and support from coworkers made it manageable and helped turn stressful moments into learning experiences.


What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
During my two weeks there, I found the team to be welcoming and cooperative, which made it easy to settle in quickly. The culture emphasized teamwork and efficiency, and everyone—from the kitchen staff to the front counter—worked together to ensure smooth operations. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
As I enter, I always greet the boss, then I would put the chairs down, wipe the tables, sweep the floor, and then once we are open, the customers come in and start ordering, I would take their orders and help out in the kitchen, where help is needed, I would then serve them their food. Once the customer has eaten and left, I would take their plates and rubbish and wash their dishes and throw there rubbish in the bin, and then i would clean and wipe there tables

Pros:
This was my first job and I was offered a position straight away. It was a really good opportunity for me to have a job experience. Other places all require some sort of previous job/retail experience so Nene chicken is a great place to work. 
And compared to big fast food franchises like Mcdonalds, KFC, I didn't have any rude customers (maybe only 1 throughout 2 years of working). 
The best thing was that I get to eat free chicken (I could even have like 12 pieces of chicken). There are so many sauces to choose so I never sick of these Korean fried chicken. I also saw that Nene chicken gets the sauce imported right from the Korea so the sauce tastes exactly the same as what I would get in Nene chicken stores in Korea.

Cons:
I was under 21 so when I got payed with the restaurant industry intro level rate it wasn't that much compared to store like coles/aldi etc. I worked mainly because I want to get some work experience to put on my resume so that I can easily get a job in the future. But if you are someone who already has experience and wants to earn money, maybe it's better to work at somewhere else?

Also if you get long hours of shift, your legs would hurt a lot since you are not allowed to sit down at all even when you are not busy. But if you are going to work like 4 hours or like 5.5 hrs the time goes pretty fast since it is a fast paced environment. 


It’s good fast pace work and easy to learn everything. However, management is terrible. Manager is never here, picks favourites and releasing the roster is funny looking. We used an app for the rosters and they would only show your own timetable and not the rest so I would have to play a guessing game on who is working with me on certain days. Most of the times we would be very understaffed and would work 9-5 as if we were full timers but no, most of us are casuals. 
Another issue is the workplace culture is toxic and a lot of high school drama due to manager hiring their friends and some don’t like each other. It’s a workplace, please leave drama out of it!! 
Despite that, they still accomodate well to your schedule such as school and having free lunch for your lunch break.

Staff will need to get ready to receive orders as soon as they walk in for their shift. Management is well maintained, for both system and environment. The toughest part of the job is during rush hours where customers will storm in with numerous orders and will have to deal with the pressure to prevent any mistakes while serving customers as fast as possible. The enjoyable part of the job is that meals are provided during break time.

First of all I started working as Kitchen Hand. It was my first ever job here in Perth so everything was new for me from food, flavour and culture. It was really an honourable moment learning from great masters.  After 2 months of great journey through Kitchen Hand work I got promoted to Kitchen Supervisor. Winning trust is my main motto and thats exactly what happened.

The same can't be said about the customers though, because they are often disappointed with our admittedly confusing menu and relatively more expensive prices. Although if you ask me, I'd say the chicken is worth it for the price.

This is fast-paced environment work, I enjoyed learning everything in this fast-food chain. However, the workplace culture is toxic, every time they are speaking in bad language, and everything is too rushed. Despite of that, we still get free lunch, and the schedule is very flexible.

No break, no discount or staff meal unless you work a certain amount of hours, always understaffed, manager cant even roster people properly.....
I told them I was going on holiday and they STILL rostered me...bro everyone always has to find someone to cover them bc manager cant even do their job properly

I was nervous when I had my first shift but the people there made it so fun and relaxing. If you have questions regarding salary and working hours, the owner would answer the questions for you.

not so great learn that no one can be trusted and they can back stab you every moment 
don’t get any free perks 
can’t take a five minute break 
can’t spend time with family unless u want your hours to get cut off
