From Malaysia devastated I have left this amazing, the best company I have ever worked for!! I can’t believe I am writing this review so late now!! In all aspects!! Worked for National Hearing Care in NSW Australia for 9 years!! The only reason I left was because we moved aboard to Malaysia for hubbys work!! I miss my job and I strongly recommend anyone reading this to work for this astonishing company!! Really as there is potential to succeed and be recognised, appreciated for your great skills and promoted!! Really there working hours are so flexible for when you want to start and finish. I also just found out that they’re opening on weekends and after hours Monday- Friday on overtime penalty rates of course and allowances!! Staff get free hearing aids any pair that your eye desires and can upgrade every 2 years!! Also 50% off for family members of staff!! I really miss working there I would every day counting the job as a blessing and I literally no joke I got paid for being myself greeting clients sitting around all day relaxed one cuppa after another,  not stressed about anything, days I just am so relaxed that I could sleep!!no pushy managers!! Yes that says plenty about the company! When the managers are not being pushed round!! It’s a very rich company!!

Well the good thing is that National Hearing Care have told me doors are open for me anytime I decide to come back down to Aussie!!! Great company especially as a private one!! You also get access to government websites where department of human services , DVA and Centrelink information where you can see a clients history and where, when, why and what they have lodged and what they are receiving through the Australian government. This is to tell you if they are eligible to receive free services and free hearing aids. 

Very friendly with things they offer like constant office delicious fruits and teas, milk, each National Hearing Care has their own amazing coffee machine, and of course biscuits!  Transport to and from places other than base clinic are paid for. Would of been lots of disadvantages if it were only a public government owned one my girlfriend used to work for Centrelink and everyone thinks wow Centrelink!! Well she wasn’t happy with her income, the dreadful clients she has to put up with and the staff being pushed around too much along with lots of office politics! She is now with NHC ( National Hearing Care) she has just finished her 6 th week of holidaying I mean training!! 


Look!!!!! Holidays are great if you work here!!! My favourite was getting paid for relaxing at home or in any country or on a cruise somewhere for 2 weeks celebrating Christmas from around the 19th December as on this day they shut down till 2nd January!! That is forced shut down!! Which I used to look forward to yearly!! 
So they Close around Christmas- New Years, you will get flexible RDOs, annual leave, carer leave and personal leave. Not like a job I had once where leave was only approved when the boss felt like it because work was slow!! No here you lodge your own leave online on your own from home from work wherever!! 

 It was never ever a problem to have time off!! So many clinics like over 300 for sure now! So plenty of staff to cover last minute unexpected situations! I was happily working full time, many days I would ask to leave an hour or 2 early and it was fine!! Very easy going management!! Pay is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok like they have stayed of course $43,000 is a base starting rate an entry level salary level 1 
for someone with no experience in the health industry. And of course Year by year the health support award rate which is what you would fall under in this company. This award increases and so does your level. I left I was earning $60,540! 9 years bloody says plenty of happiness was there!  

There is MORE!! 
That obviously didn’t include my weekly travel and uniform allowance, & our free delicious lunch every Friday yeppoo!! ALSO NOT including my bonus which happens every month starting at $1500 MINIMUM and CAN vary up on top of my wages!! There were weeks I was earning up to $1700 a week!! 
I had an awesome team!! I had audiologists who were pro’s still am in contact with e everyone!! 
Not much was expected of me just the normal answering phones, confirming clients for the next day performing the preliminary free hearing tests, completing a weekly report which is like a 2 minute job!! Also going occasionally to doctors to do the testing there it was all fun I loved what I did!! That is all!! Clients are mostly 60’z and above very very lovely clients!! Always used to get Christmas gifts from them!! 

When working in a dr practice or else where other than my clinic I got called dr!! People used to think I was an Audiologists the reason I presume they would think I was a specialist was we got trained also to repair hearing aids!! So when I fixed a hearing aid all I got told was thank you DR”!! I was promoted to a trainer within 8 months of working there!! Lots of potential for everyone!! 

 I was sick for 4 months hospitalised obviously with no more sick days left and they still took me back! Very lovely company!! Audiologists and CSOs are all great, management area managers and the big bosses all the way from Italy are amazing!! 

Generous company with constant bonuses and incentives to all staff both CSOs and Audioligist!! Especially with MLC being their health provider for us employee’s!! Lots of free family movie tickets, big discounts on food/dining, travel, and accommodation, big health insurance providers discounts, go crazy with big discounts starting at 20% online and they also send you gift cards from Harvey Norman furniture, MYER, David Jones, Coles and Woolworths!! 
This is all apart of being a employee with National Hearing Care as they are a business providing superannuation and that gave us member benefits and superannuation! That included income protection which I got when I was sick I received my weekly income through MLC you also are covered for life insurance cover and also TPD insurance!! 

Get this !! It oNly gets better for the best yes if you’re in this company you’re the best!! At least 5 times a year there is a big function where training happens in hotels, with food, alcohol galore!! Plus transport and accommodation is provided!!! Last conference was of course for the whole company to fly to surfers paradise yes all accommodation payed for in a 4 star hotel with access to amazing places and airfares paid for with the most amazing food drinks alcohol ectt!! Fun beyond words!! It was just amazing!!!!!!! 

Such a great great company !!

There many excellent qualities they have as an employer which is sometimes masked by distortions resulting from commissions and bonuses paid to its employees, including its clerical staff, which on occasions does it lasting reputational harm and has lead to them being detested by some competitors at some locations throughout Australia. 

If you thrive in commercial environments this is a great place. If this not then bear in mind that failure to achieve benchmarks usually puts you under close scrutiny, additional training and ultimately termination of employment if there is inadequate turnaround. It is a corporate that exists to return benefits to shareholders, as do most businesses,  and nothing stands in the way of that objective. One can argue this to be a responsible management perspective. I don’t think the balance is quite right yet though. Other employee qualities other than just financial return should be taken into account. They are smart and I’m sure they will get there. 

Those who sing its praises excessively are probably in the former group and amongst its most highly remunerated employees. A bit more balance is needed.

I worked at National Hearing Care just under 18 Months. In this time I found senior Management, area Mangement and CSO management so hypocritical and manipulative.  NHC is a sales company fronting as a health care centre. The focus is to prescribe as many hearing aids as possible even if the client doesn’t really need it, which made me feel uncomfortable. During the day from open to close you would receive dozens of emails and phone calls regarding KPI’s. 
There expectations  for yourself and the center were so unrealistic, The CSO’s are underpaid and expected to travel off site, book events and conduct hearing checks all while managing the day to day running of the clinics. The pay is extremely low and there is no opportunity to grow unless you are willing to ignore your morals and ethics.  
NHC have 1 focus Hit the sales target or move on  because staff and customer satisfaction comes last in all areas of this company.
This is a sales company not a health care company!

I felt compelled to respond to the malicious commentary posted here on 15/1/18 and 10/3/18. As the only audiologist at NHC Camberwell, I can confirm that these posts constitute identity theft.

The facts:

I worked at national hearing care for 9 months and in that time have never felt more stressed and anxious in my whole life!! The training was terrible, my mentor turned out to be my fellow team mate in the clinic I worked in and she was the one who continually put me down, criticised me constantly, made racial comments to me about our fellow audiologist who happens to be my good friend. Texted me outside work hours belittling me and threatening me making me feel even worse about myself than she had already made me feel. I lost so much confidence when leaving here because of the continued lack of support I received and continued bullying from the cso in my clinic. The best thing I ever did was take myself out of that environment. I feel the company let me down by doing nothing to support me throughout this horrible experience and I would NOT recommend working for this company. On the upside I dealt with a lot of lovely customers and they made most days worth comming to work.

My daily duties included confirming Audiology appointments as well as free hearing tests for the following day. Preparing files for the Audiologist. Answering phones and making appointments. Rescheduling appointments and filling cancelled  appointments.
Providing free hearing tests for clients, among many other office duties.
I learned a lot about hearing aids and their benefits, as well as time management and multi tasking. I worked with many different co-workers and enjoyed each one of them in many different ways.
The hardest part of the job was having to cancel an appointment that a client had been waiting on for months due to various reasons. The part I enjoyed the most was being able to help someone who was having difficulty with their hearing aids and being able to make things easier for them.

I'm a current employee but am looking elsewhere for work. The management (regional, area and cluster managers) are terrible, manipulative people. They talk to their staff as if they are 5 despite them being highly educated professionals. You lose all passion for the job working here and forget why you got into the career in the first place.
Overheads are so high with their ridiculous rebranding to red and hiring inexperienced managers. All this means is that there is more pressure on clinics to make money to pay the extra overheads. 
There is much outside National hearing care for audiologists and all staff. We will be looking elswhere for work and so will everyone in the clinic.

I have been working for National Hearing for the past 8 years.
 I thoroughly love my position as a Customer Service Office.

 We have a terrific team at our Bairnsdale clinic and we love the challenge of trying to meet and exceed our KPI's each month. 

Our Management are very supportive, honest and motivating. 

The best part of working for NHC is the clients, they brighten up each day. The highlight of the year is our annual conference, always held at a beautiful resort all expenses paid for flights, accommodation all meals, a gala evening and awards, not to mention catching up with other CSO's from all over Australia.

 If you love people, this is the job for you.

I am doing a 12 month maternity contract and it has been a good experience work wise and I have learnt a lot along the way but due to bullying from one of my co workers it hasn't been a very pleasant experience  ... I am disappointed with the way management has dealt with this situation and have discovered that this behaviour has been going on for along time and in the last 18months have lost 4 other CSOs due to the same reason ... new management has been very understanding and encouraging but I feel its not been enough ... due to the situation I now get to work in many of the clinics as a floater so have been able to enjoy the contract a little more
