During my time at the Roy Hill Project most of the time was great and I think that was mainly do to the fact that I got on with everyone there.  The camp facilities are the best I have seen of all the camps I have been to.  The site itself was great as I love working outdoors plus it was a little different to what I was expecting but new and exciting all the same. The supervisors and leading hands are all approachable and recognise if you're a hard worker and encourage more of it by acknowledging it at toolbox meeting. The pay was great, the food was great, the gym and pool facilities were fantastic, the accommodation was great.  Although a lot of people complained about it, I liked the 4:1 roster. the only thing I can say that I didn't like was that if we were rained off and had to stay in camp except for the gym there was nowhere to g or do so you were basically confined to your room.  Overall I think it was a great place to work, it was productive and fun and I would love to have another opportunity to do something like this again.

My time with NRW was significant from the prespective that nothing is to big or small to be taken seriously.

I joined NRW at a time when they had a desire to build their brand as an employer of choice and a number of intersting and rewarding interventions were implemented.

The best part of my time with NRW was the fact that you were allowed to get involved which allowed me to get involved in different disciplines, projects and organisational levels in the company.

The hardest part of my job was to reduce the size of my team after completion of the biggest project mobilisation in the history of the company.

The level of knowledge however that I have gained over the last three years in terms of "operating in Australia" is immeasurable.

The most enjoyable part of my job (and biggest achievement) was the high performance, professional team that we have built in the HR/ER and Training and Development Departments. based on the work ethic and ability to deliver  over the last three years, the team is now truly recognised as a credible business partner at NRW.

I am currently subcontracted out to a recently owner operated mine working under their management and with their staff.

Is a good place to work and I have enjoyed the last 3 years there, but some of the new management is very green, non production minded and as such hinders us from reaching achievable and better targets.
What I have learnt is never take a position higher up when you do not understand the workings of the positions below.
My coworkers are good people and are great to work with, although some of the ancillary operators are a little lazy and get away with it as they are very chummy with the supervisor.

Most enjoyable part is when I get left alone to do the job with 3-4 visits from an experienced dozer and plenty of trucks so we can move our quota of dirt or over and still leave the pit looking good for the next crew.

a typical day was up at 4 am get ready for the day 
working in a production based environment carting material from our dig unit to the dozer on the formation.
Everyday i learned new skills and different ways to achieve the same goal which was interesting.
Management, i didn't really have much to deal with but our supervisors were good.
co workers made this job very interesting to work with and i have made some long life friends which iam grateful for. 
The hardest part of the job would have to of been the time away from my family but unfortunately this kind of roster and work is what you have to do these days to achieve financial goals and to provide the comforts of today as the price of living is not cheap.
the most enjoyable part of the job was after work activities with my mates.

very busy on the water trucks, which I like. I've worked in teams all
my life,and this job bought those skills to the surface,without teamwork theres big problems.
What goes in to constructing a railway,work safe, and meet deadlines.
Supervisors I dealt with were excellent, good people skills,clear directions,very approachable.
most of my workmates were quality people whom I keep in touch with.
Being away from family so long, u just put your mind in a good place and cruise.
Money is good, the main reason we put up with the long swings, take the good with the bad.
The quality people u meet and get to know,different cultures, the laughs u have,sense of humour is an asset.

working as a sub contactor to BHP was very demanding, their safe work practises were the most stringent l had ever work with, after 3 years working for BHP you learnt how important it was to work in a safe work environment , and the importance of looking after your fellow workers. 
The hardest part of the job was to make sure the operators had signed onto the J.S.A, and doing their take 5's and  their machine prestarts. and that they understood the scope of works.
The most enjoyable part of the job was working with competent operators, and the interaction with other work groups working on the same project, my experience has taught me that a happy crew is a safe crew.

I was very fortunate to work with great supervisors and co workers there will always be operators that do not do the right thing but time and there work ethic sort that out typical day watercart duties, learnt that you don't be in rush pace your time my management was very helpful and understanding of job  hardest part of job  would  be machinery that keeps breaking down  and good machinery being of hired   and some of the camps we go to not understanding 4 and 1 roster   and waiting to long for parts to arrive enjoyable part of job my work mates   sunrises in the morning   and knock off time

This is a great company to work for. Excellent culture, very safety orientated. The supervisors here are not belittling, they help you, and are more like one of your workmates, than your bosses. This culture seems to extend right through the ranks to the superintendents.
I’m lucky to be working for such a great company.

Early start on to bus after testing drug alcohol . A bit of joking around on bus a good laugh . Then tool box meeting out laying the day.
Then working with machines building and maintaining. Working as a team to get the work done and learning from each other to do a better job. Working with the management doing as instructed and if not sure on jobs going to them for advice. The biggest part of of the job for me is a job well done. You can look at the job and say I was part of that team effort.
