my typical day would start with a site specific induction or tool box talk about the day ahead then depending on the job i would be watching machinery dig the trench then wed take levels and heights then wed lay a bed of sand once desired depth was reached then lay 3 pipes providing no services were in the way then wed join the pipes with rubber ring to securely hold in place then back fill to keep pipes in place then keep on digging the trench for another 4 pipes and repeat the process again untill 10 pipes were layed and at end of day wed back fill over the pipes in the ground and compactto make site safe then place fencing up around trench to provide safety for all concerned including public.
in the 11 years i was at council ive learnt a great deal including to read plans and take levels and all other things about safety and if we layed enough pipes management were happy with our work providing we didnt hit any services (water, gas, power.)i got along well with everyone that i worked with and it was the best part of the day working insynce with each other and machinery. the hardest part of the day was getting levels of trench right so wed have the right amount of fall for the pipes and sometimes when there was alot of services underground wed have to dig by hand as machinery werent allowed 500 mm near any service and the most enjoyable part of the day was working within a great team of men that were in the road crew

I loved my role as workers compensation assistant.  I worked with all types of people in their various roles from the cleaners to senior management.  Management was supportive and fair.  Working hours are completely flexible and incentives were many.  I was well paid as was everyone else.  Being able to provide support, empathy and compassion in this role was completely necessary due to the sensitive nature of the work which I did strive to do every day in the office.  I was grateful for the opportunity to have worked there.  I loved working with my council family.

For nearly 20 years of work in the same college, I felt secure in my teaching job. However, I would rate work/life balance as 80% to 20%. Accessible but domineering management puts a lot of pressure on teachers especially with regard to time-consuming admin paperwork. On the positive side, there was a lot of CPD training which added to my IT and admin paperwork skills. I have also gained invaluable experience in teaching diverse and multicultural groups and awareness of the asylum and migrant system. The most notable and rewarding part of the job was teaching and my students' achievements.

this was an excellent job from the work itself to management and work colleuges  , either driving in which you have to look out for the safety of the crew , make sure the wagon is road worthy , then travel along a pre designated route making sure all bins are emptied safely ,  when the wagon is full its your responsibility to tip the vehicle , as a crew member its your job to follow the vehicle and make sure all bins are emptied and rubbish taken away in a safe manner , you also must assist the driver in the cleaning of the wagon .

This is a really good job you do learn a lot and get lots of training if you want it,the managment team we dont often see as our school is of a very high standard, we do have a caretaker who is there and if we have anything at all we need or have a question we go to him,I get on with the other 2 girls I work with very well we make a good team,I think the only thing I dont like about my job is the cleaning of the canteen floor its a back breaking job, and this is my main reason for wanting to leave .

Project Administrator/Coordinator - very busy, no day the same
Contract preparation and assessment.  Budget/forecasting, invoicing approval, finance etc.  Report and correspondence preparation.  PA/EA to Senior Management

Short Term Contract Outside of IR35 so not much to say about the organisation. All staff were friendly and vey helpful in fulfilling the contract and I would happily work there again.

Management at Newcastle city council especially in parking services department are totall inept and are void of any compassion. They have great workers who are being let down on a huge scale

They only hire when the full time workers are on long service, or annual leave , , when they come back they get rid of you !! Overall now & heaps of brush cutting & edging!! 
Is not what you know , but who is the case ,,, selectivity is what I see working for Newcastle city council 

There has been so much upheaval in the last 10 years that it has become a very unstable and volatile place to work.
Facilities are ordinary, place tends to be management heavy.
