NEW HORIZONS ENTERPRISES

There are so many people at New Horizons who really want to do good for the world and help people. That's what keeps people going back every day. But there are fundamental issues with the way they treat staff and deal with issues (ie - they don't!)

There's always money for extravagant projects, but not to give their employees any reward or recognition for all their hard work. Their bench-marking process is a joke. 

Unfortunately bad management is rife. Despite multiple people raising issues, certain people get away with doing very little work and managing their team terribly, with no consequences. Management rarely hold themselves to the same high standard they expect of others.

The nepotism within the company is jaw-dropping. Weak people with 'connections' are kept on despite poor performance, bad attitudes and staff complaints. That's if you dare raise an issue in the first place - as many people feel if they call someone out they risk their own position in the organisation. They do 360 reviews but they are pointless as teams are so small they would never be 'anonymous' so people are scared to tell the truth! If you're in the inner circle you are protected regardless of your poor performance so they are pointless anyway. 

The CEO seems to be a very knowledgeable and passionate woman but is either oblivious or indifferent to what goes on. 

The people further down the pecking order tend to band together and support each other really well, which is lucky, given management couldn't care less. Overall New Horizons is a pretty toxic place to work.

There's a great deal of people who are in the right industry because they genuinely care about others in this organisation. This is always undermined due to the lack of leadership and management from the upper executives. They do not care, the board doesn't care. Simply if you're a friend of the managers, you're secure. If you say no, if you say you're uncomfortable, if you question any aspect the management gives you, you're done. The CEO at present talks to staff like they are toddlers including employees living with disabilities. The transformation and strategy exec hides in her room and will make excuses to not do her job. The head of the board keeps them afloat because they're all alligned with their own goal. The goal of the organisation is irrelevant with these hilarious children running the show.  Proceed with caution. There's more where the above came from. 

Regional Manager hired her personal friends for team leader and DSW roles that they weren't qualified for so complaints from workers were never heard. I was constantly having to train new DSW's in high care needs support. Consistently working 10 day fortnights but never having 2 consecutive days off. People constantly resigning because TL's and management DONT CARE and don't listen to their employees. There were Agency workers there almost every day, a lot of the time with no regular staff on site, lots of medication errors, food not blended to correct consistency, once 2 customers put into wrong beds (one was air mattress, one regular) so next day one of the customers needed pain relief. 

I started work here as part of the work for the dole program, then continued voluntarily as it was a great place to work. 
As an administrative assistant, I would sort, order and stock all stationary supplies and staffroom tea/coffee/biscuits/milk. I would assist all staff members with paperwork, filing, data entry, and photocopying. 
I was also able to prepare and participate in hub activities including, cooking, arts and crafts, as well as culture and health awareness days. 
I would answer unmanned phones and either direct the call appropriately or take messages. 
Every staff member was friendly, polite, warm-hearted, courteous, respectful, caring and an absolute delight to work with. 
I would have liked to stay in this role permanently.

I am sure Head Office and P&C actually think they do a good job.  The company is in a shambles.  Front line staff are being neglected, abused, and spat out like they are of no worth.

The building I spent a year and a half in is full of amazing dedicated people.  The general mood is very high negative all due to the insane idiocy pushed down the email pipeline. 

Do yourself justice and steer clear of New Horizons. They have filled the ranks with corporate ideals and are commited to being a profitable not for profit. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.  

New Horizons are the antithesis of what a social service provider should aim.  They neglect clients, neglect their staff.

With the historical foundations as the first ever social enterprise this organisation lives and breathes innovation. From the CEO right throughout the organisation, respect, integrity & passion are exemplified by all. Opportunity abounds at New Horizons for determined, diligent staff. Flexible work options are always invited. Staff wellbeing is paramount and “Wellbeing done well” applies to all our people. Come and join a dynamic and diverse team of doers. 

Absolutely amazing support workers who are passionate about their job.
C-Suite are the most dishonest, discusting, shifty & non-loyal people I have ever come across, they do not care about their staff at all & treat them like dirt.
Workplace culture is an absolute disgrace.
The Participants are the best part of the job !!!! 
C-Suite you should be ashamed of yourselves, I honestly don't know how you sleep at night , you don't care about anyone but yourselves,  good luck with that!

Supportive and understanding management staff
Great team work always have exceptional outcomes 
Most challenging part would be large catering orders
Favorite part would be being motivated and supported by all staff members 
Customers always seem to leave with a smile

I'm grateful for the opportunity to have worked here. There are good perks which hold up to the ethos of wellbeing (this attracts talented people) and I've had good managers. In saying that I've worked with some of the most talented people. That said, it's difficult to get things done with all the nonsense and lack of priority, direction, structured approach and support from the top. It eventually eats into job satisfaction and the notion of achieving things.

Top heavy company that is more concerned on making money and taking on the most extreme clients then the health and well being of their staff and other existing customers 
If you take a job with New Horizons expect to be bullied by management, assaulted by customers all awhile getting no support!! and basically being treated with less respect then mould. A company that prays on making money from people with disabilities with no intention of actually supporting them or
