I thoroughly enjoyed working at Dialog, both as a Marketing Executive in Cognos Business Unit and subsequently as a Manager of the Training Division. I have learned a lot about Cognos BI Solutions, meeting new clients through marketing events & initiatives. I had great managers in both roles in the Cognos Business Unit and also my Managing Director, to whom I reported to as a Manager of the Training Division was great - I really looked up to him and admired him. We had a great, tightly knit team in both. The hardest part of the job was letting go and having to resign when my spouse was headhunted to work for a global consulting firm based in Sydney. The most enjoyable part of the job was having the satisfaction of having done a great job, e.g thorough training appraisal feedback, or my own performance appraisal. I gave 100%+ in both roles and was rewarded fairly & accordingly.

My tradecraft is just one cog (of many) in the wheel of the engine powering ARQ's Marketing department. 

The opportunity to contribute work with purpose for people that care. And therein lies one of the upsides that I've discovered working at ARQ: the people... your team. 

Maybe it's my department, maybe it's the wider organisation, but I've experienced nothing but respectful, courteous adults (with an awesome sense of humour) who are masters in their craft. Working with a calibre of like-minded professionals at the top of their game helps sharpen intellectual steel. If knowledge and professional growth is your juice, ARQ is an orchard.

As a consulting engineer, I provide a service to various clients. Rather than being a service or consulting solution, it's more of a "body hire". Joined as a junior, but have been working in a senior capacity with no mentoring, or time allocated to for courses/training.

If you're comfortable working with a client alone, and have a diverse and strong skillset, you may enjoy the work. Unfortunately however, it's just not for me and will be reverting my career change decisions.

As a tech refresh engineer , I learnt how to format desktops and laptops according to the company’s needs . My job is also to help set up and deploy the workstations for users . I need to make sure I have installed all the necessary softwares and applications for user to work on and to also ensure  that all the previous data from the old workstation has been transferred to the new one . I I have also learned how to deal with technical errors and issues regarding windows windows .workstation

Typically business strategy is driven from Singapore and lacks the respect to collaborate with Australian Residents.  They attempt to get around this by employing staff relocated from Singapore, but Singapore management culture is based on a command and control ethos, which does not suit the Australian culture.

Dialog IT is  a great IT professional culture. During my time Dialog IT, I had the opportunity to meet and interact with other skilful professionals. I received support and training for different tools. The managers are open and friendly so that you feel like going to work.  I highly recommend the company to any IT professional.

Usually laying of people due to redundancy time to time with a 5 day shorter notices. No job security . No long term projects. Don't expect salary big increments. They are fully focused on being billable and your KPIs. But the way that they manage is not impressive. Not good for a career growth as well. You will always get messed up projects to work.

Very poor management and leadership. Strong culture of favouritism, you are only visible if and when you have 'right' people in your corner. Any unpopular opinions or challenging anything led to victimisation and people leaving.

Terrible company and terrible management with no potential or career growth opportunities. No training. Waiting for so long for assignments and you get blamed for not working enough.

lot of fun activites like card games and table tennis, free yoga sessions,bootcamps for employees,fortnightly drinks,free breakfast everyday  ,events like christmas and easter .
