i had soo many problems with this company, you have to fit a mold to work in this company or you will feel out of place, it was fine in the start but got worse fast

- no support from various managers or area managers
- getting abused by customers daily for promos and sale prices changing constantly, even if you explain your just doing your job or you just got told to change the promo
-VM and sale changes multiple time a day, expected to run around the store and change price signs multiple times daily, 
- always on your own- expected to clean store, serve customers, meet KPIs,hang stock, pack stock, change racks multiple times, clean change rooms, take out rubbish, change signs, changing mannequins, filling impulse, climbing up and down ladders/ step stools to change signs or clean top racks,
- no teamwork, no crossovers with fellow employees at all.
- all communication is done through emails or on whatsapp , really hard to get in contact with managers or regional managers or head office if needed
-treated as a number not a person, mental health going down as result being on your own 90% of the time
-constant stock being swapped between stores and employees from other stores coming in and loading out stock, thus losing sales, as stores have different stock 
- store hours being cut thus losing shift hours
-no communication between stores unless asked,
-up pricing on clothes, quality of products isn't always great
- no refund, only can do exchanges on new items, sale items are not to be exchanged or refunded
- constant calls about kpis, what's being done for sales and why arent sales being made,
- being contacted on days off, no work/life balance
- backstabbery and bitchiness between stores, regions and managers is ridiculous, you get caught in the middle sometimes if you stand up for yourself,
-ex employees come in and always tell you how the job is done

Upper management are awful. Very aggressive and punitive approach. Staffing levels are terrible you work alone and can’t get toilet breaks when needed. Very heavy workload and constant changes to promotions and merchandising. Confusing and misleading promotions that annoy customers. The company is very reactive and will change promotions/prices in the middle of the day in response to low sales which leads to customers getting annoyed and unnecessary running around changing everything. Expected to work up ladders alone to change signage etc. The kpi’s are insane!! Unrealistic sales targets such as 100% increase in sales from previous week and expected to sign up many new members each day. Contact emails berrating staff if unrealistic targets not met. Expected to work extra unpaid to complete tasks. Little support to store managers. One new manager was hired then not even told what day or time to start, zero orientation to store or systems, no staff, no login, no nothing and told to just work it out and not be difficult by Regional manager- it was appalling. 
And that’s just off the top of head. 
You are seen and treated as just another means to their ends of money in the till over all else.

The teamwork by staff members, the loyal customers who keep shopping in the store despite the many changes

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Continually changing pricing, rack positioning, shoe areas, when there are not even enough budgeted hours just to do the basics of customer service and stock replenishment

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Toxic , understaffed, overworked managers, continually asking for more

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Need to get in early to do floats and to get racks out- not paid before the doors open at 9, 15-20 minutes wasted on a conference call - all info can be sent by email or company communication website, stock markdowns, all the changes in promotions that change daily , not just prices but the game of musical stock is on constant rotation, trying to give some customer service between hanging stock, replenishing shoes and tidying constantly , given a 3 hour lunch cover - half hour lunch, banking, doing  constant box counts and task signoffs, not trusted to do tasks and are micro managed throughout the day , constant spruiking of promos , offers , markdowns to customers, then at about 3.30 if your lucky you get a chance to do a quick tidy and maybe a vacuum which usually takes over an hour, bringing racks back in and then end of day procedures

*You'll be fixing this companies problems from day 1, as they stuff things up ALL THE TIME. Any mistakes made, from anywhere in the company are blamed on floor staff. 
*This company is so detached from its staff in their stores, their customers wants/needs. They don't know their demographics from store to store/state to state, and it shows with the items sold and how they promote products. 
*They make irrational decisions on a daily basis. Change their minds all the time. Are very much a REACTIVE business, not a PROACTIVE one.
*Miss opportunities ALL THE TIME for the $$$ sales they so desperately want, yet blame staff for their incompetence and massive lack of usuful marketing. Hence the no idea of what their customers want.
*Staff so very undervalued. So many awesome ppl work for this company yet are not utilised to their potential. 
*Frankly, it's a joke the way this is run. Their online store is a mess! Covid and Aust Post are always blamed for their, again, incompetence. Neither of which are to blame. 
*I could go on...summary...
-incompetent 
-create stressful situations 
-grossly unorganised 
-apply unnecessary pressure daily
-unrealistic expectations due to no knowledge of how of how their stores run.
-just.purely.have.no.idea. A joke of a company. 

Higher management don't help, it's all talk no action. They say they're there for you but they're truly not. 

Unrealistic KPIs and I've quickly come to realise that after talking to friends in similar roles. Constantly berated via email or calls as to why you're not achieving their benchmarks. 

They change promotions and VM directives half way through the door and are insanely reactive to sales for the day. Never really letting a promotion take hold. 

Insane amount of stock delivered and if you don't get it ALL out, you're questioned as to why. You get deliveries of a lot of things... you just don't need nor sell quick enough, their allocation system is a bit bizarre! 

Only plus is the team you work with and the comradey between fellow store managers. Discount is good too. 

I worked in Katies. 

If you want to call in sick or take a day off, good luck especially if you have one of the longer shifts. HO have cut down our shifts so they can cut down our breaks by half or no break at all. there are rarely ever 2 people on at once, you're always working on your own running around cleaning and managing the store while you serve multiple customers and unpack stock. You've got to have so much patience and understanding and be GREAT at multitasking to work in this company. Pay is average but not enough for the work that you do or are expected to put in. It's physically and mentally draining especially if you work in a store that can get busy. 

If you don't mind being unappreciated while  being taken advantage of then this is the job for you.

Girls are great
Company is exhausting,  emotionally taxing. Unreasonable time frames for tasks, too many promotional changes and this involves window, rack and garment ticketing.
Sometimes can be up to four times a day. 
All stores do different promotions and it confuses and angers customers. 
The refund policy is no exchange only.
Online sales different to store.
Staff in stores great and support eachother but upper management has no care. Not good to work for.

No WFH arrangements during extended lockdown, all employees were stood down without pay and communication from both HR and management was almost non-existent during this time. Very stressful, disorganised and hostile workplace, certain employees were clearly favoured over their colleagues. As another reviewer mentioned on here, they treat their freelancers as disposable and are extremely slow to pay. Stay away unless you're really desperate to work, but only until something better comes along!

Disrespect customers, starting from how management refers to customers, the quality of service and products. The product is overpriced and not value for money unless significantly discounted or on clearance.  

Individuals' experience and knowledge are not valued,  and team members are not respected or heard. Poor communication.

There are some excellent talented people in the teams; however, good people don't seem to stay for long.
