Monkey Mania

Host 3-4 parties, eaach an hour long, with half an hour before your first and half an hour between each for setup / clean up. Cater food and drinker + entertain kids while in party areas, entertain kids in play area for ~10 minutes. Organise timeslot if mascot needed. You will encounter parents/famillies who don't listen to you, spoiled kids, parties where only 1/8 of the invitees show up and the birthday kid will be upset. You will deal with jelly, soda and water spills frequently, and food is often not fully organised due to only having 1-2 kitchen staffon hand, likely because of the kitchens small size. Pays decent for it's troubles, good for a first job or a job for a high schooler who needs one for maybe 1-3 years, after that the strain from bending to clean tables, chairs, floors, serve food/drinks and play in play area with kids catches up.

Be confident, you will have to raise your voice to get the kids to listen, you'll have to take initiative and talk to the parents, you will need to be able to act extroverted.

What is the best part of working at the company?
it’s a really fun atmosphere so it doesn’t even feel like work. honestly i loved getting called in, especially since everyone there is young and easy to get along with

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
mostly just dealing with impatient parents.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
super easy going, fun, you never get bored like some other jobs

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
i get there early with one other person, set up some rooms, then go work in cafe for a bit, sometimes get switched to hosting or reception. then leave in the afternoon.

You don’t get many shifts and it’s quite draining and headache causing. Manager is amazing and a really nice person, seniors can be a little tough to deal with if you’re new and it takes time to adjust. Good job for young people who want 0-2 shifts a week, there are waves of customers so you may get a couple of weeks of no work. 

Awful place to work especially since they only hire young kids to pay the minimum.
The manager at the Casula branch(which at the moment has closed as their building a new place apparently) the manager at the Casula branch is a bully and was hiring only family member and Islanders only. She's moody, abusive and puts you down.

The coworkers were one of the only good things about the job. Making coffees was nice, but the management is what was made it terrible. The first assistant manager never gave me shifts, maybe once or twice a month, and then when she left I was getting 4-5 shifts a week. A lot to adjust to. As soon as the holidays were over and just as I finished doing training to be a senior staff member I was dropped. 

Very warm and welcoming staff with a healthy environment however be prepared for minimal hours and high expectations on tasks. Not paid enough for the things you should be doing and know but gets you an understanding a job and gives you exercise and physical activity.

I worked at monkey mania for just over a year and relocated jobs due to travelling. I have enjoyed everyday with my team at monkey mania, along side the benefit of an enjoyable fast-paced atmosphere. I made so many funny memories with monkey mania and am so sad I moved jobs. 

super fun to work at and i enjoyed every shift i had. was stressful at times due to the headaches from the kids screaming but was over all worth it and i did recommend it to a few of my friends.

I loved working at monkey mania and would recommend a job there to anyone. I really learnt lots of valuable communication skills as well as how to work in a team and how to deal with unhappy customers.
