To begin with, you are thrown off of the deep end, and expected to know everything after 1 rushed 'tutorial'. Management is hostile to workers, and cannot communicate what they want. The work is wonderful, I enjoyed that part. It's just all ruined by management. Coworkers tended to be nice. For the amount you are paid, the amount you work and the culture at work, it just is not worth it. Management is oftentimes directly hostile to workers, I for example, nearly was forced to resign because of massive miscommunication from management. I was paid the least out of all my coworkers, even the ones the same age as me. There are no corporate partners in which you get discounts at. There are no learning and development opportunities. The uniforms are so incredibly tight, and are of such poor quality material. 
I genuinely feel sorry for HR having to try and repair their brand image when they have managers that foster a toxic working culture. 
You're also oftentimes overworked, due to understaffing. 
I should've seen the red flags that were there before I started. This job & the management there caused me to relapse my anorexia. Management will push you, the work itself doesn't, at least for me. It's high stress incredibly low reward. 
Benefits are nonexistent. Management is terrible. Pay is terrible. Turnover is high for a reason.

I worked at Miss Maud for 4 years and was just a casual job to work around uni. I believe this job did work around my uni schedule, although, they expect you to drop everything for work which is very unrealistic. I became comfortable in the job, hence why I did not leave earlier and looking back now I regret staying for as long as I did, as since I left many opportunities came my way. The work environment is toxic and communication between the head office and the stores is poor. Overall very poor communication and very little support from head office for managers and staff. In the 4 years I worked there I had over 6 managers, I think this says a lot about the work environment. In my time working here I, and my colleagues who worked there, experienced workplace bullying and when this was made aware to head office, it was not taken seriously. While there were many negatives of the job, I did make many life long friends at the job and I am very grateful for that. The pay is also decent. In my 4 years there was no offer to grow in the company, I assume they don’t even bother with uni students. Overall, I would not recommend working for this company and I believe that the company needs to do some serious re-evaluating on morals and how employees are treated.

I honestly did enjoy this job at the start but eventually I was given no hours, the store went down hill since the new manager was hired. Was given no communication at all from the manager and head office about getting shifts, so been job hunting and I'm happily landed myself in a more healthy work environment with decent hours. 
The lack of training and support in the workplace is insane. I got thrown into the deep hole being expected to know things without being taught things, and getting picked on by customers and management for making mistakes. Dealt with so many Karen's and Daren's on almost every shift, having my mental health on the line. Thankfully I've been doing better not being in such a work environment for a while now.
Overall, I believe this job made me prepare for the worse, gave me thicker skin, met amazing fun staffs, built friendships and did help me pay of my bills but I personally wouldn't recommend anyone working there. 
If you would like job security for long time, Miss Maud isn't your go to. It's better for short term in my opinion or a back up. 

Working at Miss Maud's wasn't terrible, but its not like I enjoyed it.
I was given the position as a waitress. I was given the duties of making sure the lounge area is presentable, tables are clean and set, food is served to the right customers, making sure customers were comfortable, dealing with any problems they have, promoting new food and restocking, I also assisted in early morning store openings and the closing of the store and the tasks of washing the dishes, drying, and putting away. All these tasks would be fine ...even though I'm supposed to be a waitress, however generally during peak hour of lunch time and breakfast, where it gets really busy, one person doing all that work, is rushed to do everything and it becomes very stressful.
On top of that the people I worked with gossiped about everyone, the working environment wasn't all that healthy, plus the pay wasn't worth the time.
If thats your kind of job then thats fine, personally it wasn't healthy for me.

Typical day at work: Getting in, setting up the tables and preparing for the day, serving customers, taking orders, making coffee, cleaning dished, bringing out the meals, and using the cash register. At the end of the day it would usually involve mopping, sanitizing, and cleaning of the machines. Usually ended by being sent home early, or being overworked.
What I have Learned: Team work skills, how to prepare many types of drinks, how to manage time effectively, how to work the eftpos machines and till, along with how to produce a friendly customer service manner.
Co-Workers: Most co-workers were friendly, but some were rude, and others kept to themselves.
Hardest Part of the Job: The hardest part of the job is to keep on top of multiple tasks at one time. The job requires a lot of multitasking.
Most Enjoyable Part: The most enjoyable part is seeing customers going away happy, and praising you for your work.

I'm not one to do these types of things but I've had ENOUGH. Everything was fine at the start, I enjoyed working there. That soon changed after a new manager came in, she bullied me and treated me very unfairly to the point where even the other staff members picked it up. she made me cry the second week I started I had to be sent home. Thank god she left. I have met some of the rudest people ever who will complain about absolutely anything. don't get me started on the management here we are all so under appreciated and over worked, I couldn't work one day and they started asking me personal questions which I didn't feel comfortable saying. Head office is a JOKE they treat us all so badly. I would not recommend working here, It is the most toxic work environment I've ever been in! this has ruined all my hopes and dreams bye.

The pay is alright if you’re experienced and work in the kitchen or as a manager but you’ll be taken advantage of. The rostering and management of the stores are all ultimately run by “head office” in Northbridge. They used to do okay a few years ago when I worked for them and there were actually experienced people running their stores but now they just put young and/ or inexperienced people in the position of management who fail to train their staff accordingly and the whole team pays for it. They’re so concerned with saving money they’ll put no staff on and most don’t know what their doing because they haven’t been trained. Most customers get angry and leave/ get a refund. It’s so unpleasant to work there in general. Especially in the kitchen. Anyone that puts up with that company is either desperate for money or don’t have experience and know what they deserve. 

throughout my tenure with miss mauds I have had nothing but terrible experiences. As an Adult who has moved from the country to the city with no financial help from parents or family a $16 an hour wage dosent cut it. I received 3 hours a week at the start and sometimes no work at all and had a terrible manager who slammed me every time i came in with rude and insensitive comments about my situation and family. I received counselling over this job and had to move to a different store. this store had lovely staff but for the amount of work during a 3 hour shift and type of environment I had been surrounded with personally wasn't worth the $16.

Made me beyond stressed. No coffee shop is worth the stress. Heavily understaffed (at the time I was there at least) New manager an absolute pain, not sure why he was ever hired. Left shortly after because I had had enough of the slyness and "I'm right, you're wrong" attitude. But the job itself taught me a lot about customer service and the lovely prior manager taught me tips about how to deal with unhappy or angry customers. Unless you enjoy seeing 30 plates/coffees that need to be ran to table all by yourself while simultaneously cleaning at least 100 dishes, don't apply. The quieter days (during the week days) however were very enjoyable. Still busy but without the stress. 

As I was at school in this period, i could not work any other timing except Thursday evenings, Saturdays and, if open, some Sundays. 
I learned to make the sandwiches, coffee and serving customers in a polite manner. 
I was not a manager at Stockholm so I did not do any management during my time spent working for miss maud.
there was no hard part of the jon what so ever.
It was a thourely enjoyable job and I made the most of my time spent there.
I would also stay over time simply to make sure I could provide my workmates with all the help that they required.
