a typical day at work - prepare event, dealing with client, managers, & floor staff. and running events smoothly

Hardest part of the job - running multiple events and dealing with multiple clients. working with demanding clients. 

Most enjoyable part of the job  - when clients send a great feedback on the work I did. and also having fun with staff at work while working hard.

Shifts are broken down into Short (4 hours), Medium (5-8) and long (8-10). However, there's no end times. So a short shift could end up being 10 hours and a long shift could end up being 4. It's very hard to plan your life around. You will often get backlash from rostering trying to set boundaries as they want 24/7 availability. 

The events are interesting to be a part of, and every day is different. It's a double edged sword. Often you only meet a Team Leader or Manager once and are part of a group with coworkers you've never met. It takes a while to build any kind of familiarity or rapport.

We had a staff briefing every morning so everyone knows what they are doing and if questions need to be asked that is the best time. the board is split into 3 sections which are : the jobs that need to be finished that day, the jobs for the next day and production. As a job gets done it gets wiped off the board. We usally work in pairs but when its busy we work in 3's

a day of work was always busy never stopped, I learnt where everything went after finished washing the dishes. the management was excellent, my co workers were really helpful. there was really anything hard about the job. my most enjoyable part of my job was working with new people and learning new skills and using them in my position I was in

At this workplace, every shift that I'm allocated to may not be the same. For instance, some days, I might just be an attendant at a dinner, serving the guests, drinks and their courses. Some other days, I might be working at a coffee station, serving customers brewed coffee/tea. I've also done cashiering and sometimes also help with set ups and pack downs of furniture.

Well that’s how they put it in the interview and I can see why. They have good systems and good technology. They are generous with supplying departments with equipment to get the job done. Good place to learn simple rigging practices. But to make a decent wage , you need to be working 60 hours a week and doing graveyard shifts at least twice weekly. Good people to work with on the most part.

Worst job I ever had. Inept upper management HR with their head in the clouds. Far from reality! Great staff who keep it all together and without the very hard work and conscientious crew this venue would fall over because of the completely inept management

fun and nice, everything well organised, managers doing an amazing job at briefing and clear instructions and information about each function. Everything to the highest standard, the food the preparations the organisation and management 

At here, all new staffs are provided with proper training. The first two weeks, I worked as set up team to get familiar with the building and its storages and management which was extreamly helpful.
