to start with, every day at work was a fun day as every one was working together to achieve one goal with a very high regards for safely. and the job it self can only be difficult if one is doing it with wrong tools. but every job is easy and safer if down with the right tools. that was my most experienced on sited as wrong tools to do the job could easily leads to problem.

the work place was well build and all needed activities where present. though it was a camp life but it almost looks like a town on it own. the only problem there was worked leaving away from their families and not being able to visit or see them every night till onces fly out day. but all the same there was time for every one to visit their office and demand to go home and see your family should need arises.


rigging by itself is a team work but when there is a leader who want everything to be down his or her own way them there will be a problem. it is a collective mind set that calls for listening of one another and putting the rightful ideas in place to get the job down safely.


what  enjoy the most was the morning meetings and suggestions collectively put together and finally actioned the right and most successful onces. this always brings a very productive work and also a successful plan for the future task ahead.

1) Wake up at 230 pm get up go for a two km swim then get ready for work, eat go to work for ten to twelve hours, Finnish work go to the gym eat breakfast and go to bed,
2) I learned how to make things happen because we had bosses that did not know the job, like the workers 
3) Management mostly across the board was poor most personnel were placed in higher positions not for what they knew but who they knew. However their were some key members who kept the project moving forwards.
4) For the most part stuck together but, some were inexperienced and the basic allowance for mines is a minimum of 5 years,some had none. but generally the guys that knew the job were well sort after during the progressive stages of the projects
5) Getting the supervision to stop worrying about their job so much and let us get the job done was the hardest part of the job
6) Enjoyable part of the project was doing my job being proud on knowing that i am more then capable of achieving just about any task assigned to me.

A typical day at work starts as soon as I walk through the door... I start by making myself something quick to eat and then straight to the Reception desk to:
•	Data entry 
•	Organise and sort  mail for international and domestic CB&I Offices 
•	Daily updating of spread sheets (phone listings, security cards, Mail register)
•	Answering main Reception line
•	Transferring calls to allocated employees
•	Greeting cliental, senior management  and employees at the front desk
•	Ordering stationary for the CB&I Building 
•	Placing coffee orders for the kitchens
•	Liaise with clients and buyers over the phone
•	Organise food for lunches/ morning teas/ afternoon teas
•	Set up conference calls for senior management 
•	Tidy kitchen, Reception area and Meeting rooms
•	Filling in for Facilities manager for 2 weeks while she was sick
•	Booking Meeting rooms for staff

My general day consists of getting up 3.45am, preparation for work and mind  set. I work a 10 hour day we inventory checks of all materials in and out consistently. We provide movement of materials to the work front for the  building of  3 trains for LNG gas production. This project is probably one of the largest in comparison to other projects I have ever  been on previously. I don't really have any difficulties in regards to the job, just have to maintain a positive approach and the reason why your doing it. Mine is for my family its a sacrifice but the immediate rewards are beneficial. The management team are diverse in their crews and have the same reasons as we all do. Everyone gets along just fine, I enjoy the 10 days off too, not many jobs that acquire that sort of leave

CKJV was an American company and with about 6000 people on site was very impersonal. Work and life balance was not the best being a 4 x 1 roster but the work culture we developed in my areas was second to none, worked in very well with the construction manager who knew every person in his area as I did. We developed a culture that was as said second to none which made it great to go to work. The management were OK although meetings were a little long winded at times just going round in circles. Overall a great place to work and if it was not for my wife having a health problem I would have been there till the end of the job

Most typical day at work was the last remaining 2 weeks as CB&I which started demob the crews at time every personal kept asking when are going to be laid off I kept replying we still have a job to do until we get a tap on the shoulder then its time but until then continue   working. What I learn is to keep every personal focuses on there task in hand. From our management well we did not get any support from our superintendents or construction manager. Our work culture as a team inside was excellent and the hardest part of the job was getting gear or tools to our work crews and last part I enjoy part was as a team we did it Completion of LNG plant Wheatstone CB&I.

Great work place, relaxing work environment and,team spirit was very good. I learned how to use the JDE system to process invoices  to check on receipt of goods and confirm the availability of Purchase Orders. What I really enjoyed was liaising with creditors, field staff and other divisions like Procurement, Sub-contracts and Cost Controllers to resolve issues
My only concern was the lack of dialogue and focus on job training to enhance our individual skills. A lack of job rotation also limited our personal advancement.

A very honest and family friendly company.This was a company who put thier workers and staff first ,A great expriece working for them.
In this company i advanced from advance rigger to superintend though having great support from upper management.
Since working for CB&I i have adoped a good work place culture in learning the importance of listening to the work force and giving feed back where possible.
The hardest part of my job would be not enjoying what i did which i can say became my most enjoyable part because with a good work crew and management i enjoyed my work.

Interacting with Management and workers, spending most of time out  in the field ensuring compliance to safety management plan.
Quality requirements for LNG plant construction.
Big focus on safe production.
Physical requirement of walking long distances and many stairs every day.
Meeting some great people, building long lasting friendships, having a positive impact on the safety culture in the workplace.

As leading hand, I had a very good crew with good attention to detail,  good communication skills, co-operative and perform there duties under strict quarantine regulations, supported by good management.
Hardest part was to keep to the strict quarantine regulations, only water to be consumed on site, apart from the crib rooms. Best part of the day was the debrief time, time to relax and discuss events of the day, no injuries and then go home.
