Majority of my day was spent formatting and exporting various reports for the business to send to external clients.

I enjoyed the variety of work that was given to me over the year. I was able to move between three departments learning new processes & systems, and overall gaining more knowledge about the industry.

Management was always encouraging for us to broaden our knowledge and expand upon our skills. The great atmosphere came from management who encouraged team outings or team building exercises, where we could form stronger bonds with our team members.

A difficult aspect of the job was understanding what terminology was to be used for various reports. However, with time that became added knowledge.

The most enjoyable part of the job was interacting with many members of staff throughout the day, and assisting one another with the workload, whilst sharing knowledge.

I would typically start my day with cases assigned to me which would include (Processing disputes and charge-backs in Visa and Processing Pre-arbs, re-presentment in MasterCard), Monitor real time queues and identify high risk transactions, Identify fraudulent transactions and cancel them from further processing. I have learnt to resolve disputes in favour of the customer and the institution through the biggest network operators VISA and MasterCard. There is great work life balance and also good flexibility of timings at work. I really like challenges and it helps me grow to the next level, i manage a difficult situation at work. I really enjoy the games that we have indoors like table tennis and chess. It helps us have a good break during the day and keeps our mind and body fresh.

Within my current role I deliver the end-to-end development and coordination of global training programs and learning initiatives. This role involved partnering with key stakeholders to understand development needs and priorities to ensure alignment to broader business strategy. Alongside this, I provide efficient operational and administrative support to the team and adhered to critical timelines throughout day to day activities and broader Learning and Development campaigns. Independently I manage different training programs we offer and coordinate all pieces of work. My proficiency in the responsibilities and processes illustrates my superior time management skills, ability to prioritise and multitask, meet deadlines and effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

Provided operational support to Dealing Desks across the globe, trading specifically on the Metals and Mining, and Foreign Exchange markets.  Also processed international funds transfers for internal divisions bank-wide.  High volumes on a daily basis.
Learnt how to work effectively and efficiently within a team environment.
Have gained knowledge on how the global banking systems operate and understanding each countries requirements in order to effectively transfer funds with minimal delays.
Daily contact with internal and external customers.
Great management and team environment.
Opportunities to progress in other areas of the operations team or within other business units of the company on a global level.

My job involves

o	Managing client requests involving their cash, Wrap and Prime accounts and ensuring matters are actioned as efficiently as possible. 

o	Provide account and portfolio information to assist clients and advisors in their investment strategies and to facilitate the movement of cash and assets (domestically and internationally).

o	Liaising with product managers to offer improvements and updates for Macquarie Bank products and clients. 

o	Answering phone calls and making outbound calls to clients, external financial advisers and Macquarie internal advisers/support staff regarding various matters about different Macquarie products.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Long hours, expectations (but unspoken) to be logged on / check inbox outside of standard work hours 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mostly good, but high pressure and high volume of work. Never a dull moment. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy and a long day. From 830am-6pm (at times longer). But working with great peers helps.

I am working monday to friday from 8am to 6pm. Such a good place to work in corporate environment and know about how they operate their business. The management was good and offer such a kind respect to my position and my co-workers. My co-workers are so good and friendly. They are well behave and manner and they respect their work and people. Love to work with them everyday. 

Every job has their hard and soft part. Every job we have to work hard everyday. I have no complain about my job.

My job was to keep control of the Security Company which was employed by Macquarie Bank.
Checking on faulty security doors and locks and having them fixed.
Be across the various fit-outs that were happening in the buildings occupied by Macquarie Bank, and making sure they are progressing according to the project dates.
Run regular access reports for the tenants.
Making sure we had adequate security equipment/access cards.

For a person who works with technology Macquarie Bank is very outdated, conservative and resistant to changes. 
In a world where competition is only increasing, efficiency should be number one in priorities for projects and initiatives, but that’s not the case. 
Also management is very controlling and micromanaging make it impossible to obtain any joy out of your work. 

I was privileged to work for Macquarie Group. I was paid well and worked hard. The fifteen years I spent there were very enjoyable. The Group places a great emphasis on proper human resource management and on equal opportunity employment. Their policies in both areas are to be admired. Given the overall quality of management staff employed by the Group, learning opportunities for those wishing to increase their knowledge are boundless.
