Overall, Macpac is a New Zealand based company, specialising in hiking equipment and apparel.
The most enjoyable part of my job is meeting new people who are going traveling or hiking (which I love), no customer is ever the same which makes it quite challenging most the time.
All my fellow staff have a is a very positive work ethic, including the management.
The most hardest thing for me currently is the commute to work, the store is based in Fitzroy I live over the West side of Melbourne now (basically the other side of the city, total commute time just over and hour each way).

This brand is a great company to work for. They value their team and genuinely want to improve everyday. They value their products and want to make products that last the test of time. The brand strives to improve their carbon footprint on the world and value and encourage input from their team about what they can do better. It's a great place to work and a great company to represent.

Go from giving you more hours than you can handle to none without warning or apology, based of their budget. SRG makes everything very ineffective and slow as an employee, and you generally get the feeling they don't care if some change makes you job a lot harder and more cumbersome. All the changes SRG make are basically purely in their interest, don't help employees in a material way (but pretend to)

Most stressful would be the continuity of training

Great community support and lgbtq+ support

I loved working at Macpac, everything was fun about it and the stores were always busy and you always had something to do in store. Only down side was the new manager that came to my store which was one of the reasons I left, but other than this I really enjoyed my time at Macpac.

Great opportunity and company to work for. Offered excellent benefits and they offered me complete training as I had never worked with outdoor equipment before. Training staff were very supportive and helped me to get everything organized and set up. This was my favorite job of all time.

My experience working here was the best i've had in the workforce. management was kind and understanding and my coworkers were fun to work with. work/home life balance was easy to manage and made life a breeze.

MacPac is a fantastic retail job. It teaches you to have incredible depth in each product and speak with confidence to customers. MacPac is a very honest and transparent business and it is shown in their operational procedures.

Was mostly relaxed, good wages and great work environment. Management wasn't perfect but still great. The hardest part of the job was learning the products we sold. My favorite part was interacting with customers.

Great training and friendly environment. Would not reccomend for full time but great for making some extra money whilst studying. Should have an interest in the outdoors and outdoor equipment to apply.
