I worked for mac as it has been my dream job, I love the job but feel attitudes of some artists can be negative especially as they are over compensating for already negative reviews about mac by customers.

More so majority of the people you meet are amazing and it definitely is a great company to work for and I do not have any regrets being apart of such an amazing company - like most jobs you always get bad eggs but as long as you have that strong passion but most importantly passion for the customers then you will succeed. Mac is amazing and people need to remember that just because you work for mac you do not become HIGHER than other people in the industry Mac is all about family and i can not stress enough how much effect mac put into the public to ensure there experience is amazing, i feel more and more people who are hired are carrying through macs values which is amazing

MAC is a high energetic workplace, the location I'm in is extremely fast past faced. I've experienced 3 different managers in 1.7 years of working for the company. Overall management for the company is quite average, sometimes even below. There is an extremely low reward for the employees working there which I noticed makes it hard for employees to always perform their best. We receive an amazing staff discount and you get a load of versatile experience that can be applied to any job. They offer an average amount of training to their employees. Pay is quite low for a retail job, and weekend commissions only apply if you work a minimum 5-hour shift, anything under and you don't qualify for this.

Overall, for a retail job it's quite decent, depending on the location it's definitely not a boring job and requires you to be fast on your feet and deal with pressure in a positive format.

Management and higher management / some trainers (most trainers are good) are extremely close minded, do not like it when people do better than them and power trip anyone because they have nothing better to do with their life. 

When I told head office that I was being bullied ( and a few more members ) by the store manager, absolutely NOTHING was done about it. They don't care as long as she made the targets that's all that matters.

Mac act as if they are doing so well but then only put one artist on because really they can't afford the wages.

Toxic. Customers always complaining, a lot job to do and small team

Amazing working environment and so many amazing opportunities offered. This company is dedicated to its staff and genuinely care. Mac is a great company to work for regardless of whether your just beginning in the makeup industry or well established in this industry. I highly recommend this company!

I love working for Mac Cosmetics, I’ve gone through some tough times in this beauty industry but Mac treats their staff excellent, I love everything about the company and what they stand for. The hours are good, the pay is good, the work life balance is good. Training is AMAZING. I don’t have a bad word to say about MAC & Estée Lauder companies.


MAC was one of the best companies to work for. Everyday was different and everyday i learned something new about how to deal with different customers and how to better the service i provided for them. Management was fair and my co-workers were always there if i needed a hand with anything.i was able to personally grow and develop my skills.

Super fun workplace where you're really encouraged to be yourself. Good environment where everyone feels like family. Management is great and gives you the support to grow. Generous employee discount & perks. 

Great working environment if you have a good team and manager, get to express creativity, regular makeup bookings so you aren’t always selling. Good work perks but pay could be better.

so much to learn and also kept on your toes, make lots of lifelong friends, mamagent is great, lots of training, also willing to listen to staff to hear abou timprovments
