Lorna Jane

Lorna Jane is a fun place to work. The team and the girls are incredible and make working there fun. 
They recently increased staff discount from a petty 25% to 40%, so that's a bonus. 
The sales and KPI benchmarks are ridiculous and unachievable, especially in the retail business today. They expect you to show 9+ items to customers in the change room but you have to work by yourself because no one is hitting targets, so we have to cut down shifts.
Management calls 3-4 times per day to make sure you're on track and if you're not they're very sarcastic and judgmental on the phone.
There is not enough support from area managers. I was basically hired to sort out the drama that was happening in the store and never properly trained by my are manager. She encourages me to talk bad about my team and put the blame on one person when in reality, we aren't making targets because there are less and less customers. 
The style of selling that Lorna Jane wants you to do is extremely pushy and in your face to customers. It does not work and I feel uncomfortable doing it. Customers have also complained that sales people at Lorna Jane are too forceful and it turns them off shopping there again.

From the moment you get to the store, its all action. .action.. action.. Even from a managers perspective it is all about what can you do to bring about energy within the store , community and at the end a competitive edge between store to store. 
The culture of the workplace is indeed in the focus of active wear, active participation and movement. Healthiness is next to happiness as a whole. We are encourage to join group that assist on creatively adjoining local groups to a state as a whole. What I've learned as a manager is that we are there autonomously to coach and mentor everyone who walks in that door as your client, friend, and an instructor. You never stop showing movements. The most enjoyable part of the job  is that the collaboration within store to store promoting individuals active role within the community either as an ambassador for a great cause to mentoring and making a difference on women's and children's lives within the community they are member with or a part of an integral cumulative active movement within the nation as a whole.

The company offers a unique, welcoming atmosphere, well suited for those with a passion for active living and personal development. Work inside the head office seems manic at most times, often met with a lot of stressed employees. Working in the warehouse shares a level of stress due to poorly set out time frames, but is otherwise fairly relaxed. It's dull work with little change to the environment, but there is a very supportive and understanding culture there. It has been very accommodating as a part-time job with various life changes and health issues during my employment, however there is very little room to expand without making your intentions clear. 

Safety and time management seem to be what lacks in the warehouse most and could be improved.

Lorna Jane has been a wonderful company to work for, providing great training and a nice working environment. The product is amazing and i thoroughly enjoying being apart of the active living philosophy. I love interacting with customers and sharing knowledge and educating them on the unique benefits of the products. The team is great and the girls are always happy and excited when new stock arrives. The most enjoyable part of the job is there interaction with customers and feeling like you really have connected with them and taught them something new that will help them on their person journey towards optimal health and active living.

I think the people who don't thrive here  actually just dont enjoy fast-paced environments.. but that's just the nature of retail and the industry. Especially for a company that's been so successful throughout COVID. They're really reactive so theres a tonne of change every day which just makes sense when everything in the world is changing. They put they're customer first and you can really tell that. If you like change there are a tonne of career advancement opportunities here, you just need to put you're hand up and say yes. Pretty cool

Favourite part of my job was styling beautiful woman in outfits that not only would make them feel good, but would give them that extra motivation to train and stay on track with their goals.
Working in retail for 5 years, i have learnt lots of things.. hopefully stepping up the ladder i will have a lot more to learn.
I've always been lucky enough to work with such beautiful team members.
The hardest part about my job is that not working enough hours doesn't give me the chance to connect with as many customers, to have those regulars who i know of the back of my hand.. Were as in a full time job i will be able to do that and i look forward to so much.

Was a good casual job that I worked mostly as an extra sales associate over Christmas/ New Year.
On an average day I would come in shortly after my 2IC unlocked the store for the day, we would briefly go over tasks for the day and set to work. I was a small store with relatively minimal foot traffic so most of the time it was just myself and the 2IC. The hardest part was that the store was located just off a main shopping strip so the environment was fairly slow paced. This enabled to do my job to the best of my ability but I found slowly became a bit dull. 

The best part was they little team my 2IC and I created and all the large sales we made together.

a typical day i would get to work read notes, i would check our month target then i would see how we are tracking then i would check our week and see what we needed everyday to weekend then would set tasks in to what my team need every hour to achieve our goal.
i would do rosters on monday, onstaff, our system was changed to time tech. i would set duties what need to be done, clean, make sure my store looked amazing open the doors, count float every day (before store opened) greet every customer,banking, answering the phone, customer feed back. EOD procedures.closing the store.

This is a suitable job for students. Depending on your manager, the job can be enjoyable. I've worked at a few stores and some managers are good or bad. There is a high employee turnover, this includes casuals and managers. The hiring process can be long so there are many occasions where we are short staffed and have to outreach to other stores for covers. At time this can occur for almost the whole week. However, a positive here is that you can sort of gain manager experience by coordinating visual merchandising, organising the store and rosters, replying to emails, etc. Further, you are able to get a slight increase in wage for this.

It seemed so fun and such a good job at the beginning but come about a month in the cracks start to show. There is zero to little care from above management and the way they expect the stores to be run with only causals who don’t care to work was just unfair on managers. Expect to work around the clock and deal with very lazy causals who can get away with being lazy for absolutely no benefit. No work life balance for store leaders yet they advertise so heavily that they provide it.
