Lite n Easy

Coming from GOV call centre operations it was a culture shock for IT infrastructure. The IT team are not well funded / structured and therefore all work is just a temporary fix. Phone system and Sales database crashed every other day and staff are forced to complete written order templates 70's style.
Management handled a COVID19 risk to all staff very poorly. Allowing a staff member who's husband had returned from Dubai the night before, and didn't quarantine for 14days, attend work on the Monday Morning.
Staff issues were not resolved. And staff were instructed NOT to contact HR with their concerns.
The sales database was written/compiled about 20yrs ago and has not been upgraded to a CRM. It has numerous pitfalls and mistakes that allow the user to duplicate/over-order/under-order/order incorrect item/s etc. So basically impossible for new staff to manage their error rate.
Good perks - free gym; good staff discount on food; free secure parking on-site.
Good training & support however IT constraints made it difficult at times.
No internet access; no emails therefore memo's regarding sales/product updates etc. came around in hard copy to be signed and then taken.
Product info/knowledge retention was almost impossible. Unable to save Fav's; Unable to create desktop shortcuts; Unable to print anything.
99% of the team were a dream to work with and it was a relaxed and happy place to work, apart from those issues.

Some ppl have different views of the job pending on what shift you work. Different shifts do different jobs. 
Morning shifts have different areas such as 
kitchen- do food prep, work on line packing food in containers
packing- on a line packing pre packed food and fruit etc into the day bags
Afternoon pack what the packing staff did into the bigger bags ready for loading, as well as pack frozen dinners etc
Night shift do the loading of the eskys, they are on a line and pack what Afternoon bagged into the esky and at the end of the line is the drivers who pack their trucks to deliver to customers.
Some of the people are good to work with. As for the management side of things it could be a lot better, same goes with the so called supervisors on the floor. Regardless of shift some of the supervisors try and be intimidating by standing and looking at you or think they can speak to you rudely. 
This place has a high number of intakes, seen so many leave it’s not funny, and one cause is due to the supervisors, you go and complain to the bosses, but they don’t do anything.
If you want to try the job out then go ahead, like I said everyone has different views, a lot even love working there. 


Straight up, management is horrible. The supervisor is a horrible woman, she only treats people she favours fairly, yet even then I've consistently witnessed her abuse her power over the lady below her. 
She's way unprofessional, even going as far as openly talking about co-workers that would be let go in front of others. She let's her daughter who was previously hired there, come in as she pleases, along with her grandchildren as though the joint is a childcare. 
That same lady comes into work with Nike runner in the production area, coffee in her painted manicured hands. Also, into the high risk area, with those very same dirty runners she'd trotted around in outside, which, believe me- is much much worse.
The work is easy, but continued to become more and more demanding, they expected you to stay for upto 2+ hours of overtime everyday, which isn't that bad, but overtime was not a choice and tax would outweigh the income.
Some of the freezers ice melted into the main production area and they made us mop it up with the lunchroom tea towels lol.
Don't get me wrong though, good experience, on how not to conduct myself.

I previously worked at Lite N Easy for 3 years both in factory ( process worker ) and office. The good thing about Lite N Easy is they are always busy. They make products more and faster. They pushed the worker too hard, thus there are so many injured and sick people. If this happens to you they will just put you on light duty for 1 month and they will saked you after that if there is no development. The culture and some of the workers at Lite N Easy are very rude and insecure people. They gossip so much about personal life and I noticed that a lot workers here got *exually attracted to each other and It results of them cheating on their partners. I have experienced *ullying here as well when I got promoted to a higher level job. All employees including supervisors tried to attacked me since I got the promotion. It caused me so much stress and I felt depressed working at Lite N Easy which results me quitting the job for my own personal safety.

A typical day at work is packing pallets, ensuring correct count of product is present and making sure the team is fairly rotated. I learned how to work with great time management, so that no matter how busy it was, we could keep up as a team and with production. Learning how to get along with a team no matter how any team member was feeling was always important and learning how to build rapport came easily, which was good because it brought good balance to people focus and task focus. The hardest part of the job was going through different methods of working and finding which way best suited me. Observing the way other team members worked, but at the end of the day, it always came down to figuring out quickly how I best work. The most enjoyable part of the job was feeling accomplishment of productivity during along with all other team mates.

fellow staff members.. rest of the company is incredibly toxic

company is very money hungry, dishonest they have zero staff support always look out for themselves at all times

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
extremely toxic!!! company looks out for itself at all times there is a little fake support on the surface but as soon as there required to follow through with anything especially staff complaints or wage issues you see the truth pretty quickly...

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
very stressful, un orginised, very low wages..most of the team leaders, supervisors do there best on the floor but are hamperd daily by a company always trying too cut costs at the expense of the staff members

Every morning 5.30am need to setup the production line and the delivery line for truck home delivery.
Then need to unload truck and check quality and quantity as per in voice and stacking of goods using forklift and pallet truck..Doing all receiving report and check against order form.
I need to prepare and deliver to all section as per production request daily. Every Monday need to unload frozen truck from Brisbane and stack them in the cold room.The co workers were friendly and cooperative and I had a good and easy going production supervisor who I got along very well.
The hardest part of the work was Friday,when I have to spent sometime around 12 hrs in the cold room of -25 degree celcius for our weekly inventory.My enjoyable part of the job was Thursday which we call it reading the bible where we start to prepare next week standard menu.

The most satisfying work I have had was with Telstra. Working in the Transmission section, at Taree and Port Macquarie, working in installation and maintenance, gave me a great sense of achievement, the companionship and interaction with like minded workers is something I miss the most. Each day was filled with new challengers as new technology was rolled out. The training was invaluable as the new technologies were introduced. The Management staff were wonderful to work with.The hardest part of the job was leaving when my position was made redundant after 28 years. I enjoyed working in a team environment, especially on installations. 

I've been employed at the company for 5 years, seen it through its peak busiest times to its slowest and no ongoing.
The companies biggest issues is low income compared to workload expected.
Most floor management are pleasant to work with and for, The higher up the tier the less likely it is to find someone willing to listen to staff issues, 
every three years a new EBA is put into place and every three years staff are swindled, coerced and ultimately sold into the idea the company needs to offer less so the security of the company can go forward.
275 million was made last year alone from this company, minimal pay rises offered every time.


I enjoy being apart of a small team in the bakery department baking healthy treats and snacks, I like how we have set stations in our room which requires using different techniques for each product its repetitve but fun at the same time, we work with the time of ovens cook in cook out trying to meet the daily production total. We have people who are continuously creating new recipes with strict healthy nutritional baking,  demand on production in our small room working under pressure we cope with little maintanace on our equipment and appliances. I like how im apart of a company that encourages healthy living.
