One of the biggest things I learned in this role was how to manage multiple priorities under pressure while leading a team with different personalities and performance levels. The position also strengthened my ability to work in a KPI-driven environment and taught me the importance of adaptability and problem-solving in a customer service industry.

Because of the retail and cosmetic industry environment, the workplace could sometimes feel high-pressure, particularly during peak trading periods or promotional campaigns. However, strong teamwork often made challenging days more manageable.

The hardest part of the job was managing the pressure of meeting sales targets while also handling staffing challenges, difficult client situations, and maintaining smooth daily operations. Balancing business expectations with employee wellbeing could sometimes be demanding, especially during busy periods.

The most enjoyable part of the role was leading a team, seeing staff grow in confidence and performance, and building relationships with regular clients. It was rewarding to contribute to a positive clinic atmosphere and help clients feel more confident in themselves. You get promised the world at your interview and when you accept the position, but after a week or so LCA show their true colours. They will only show you how to treat one area with laser then expect you to be 100% perfect at every treatment from day dot. Even if you've never done laser before, they expect you to be as expert and if you aren't you are belittled in front of other staff about how bad you are at your job. 
They give you absolutely no computer or reception training and get angry when you don't get it, how can you do it without mistakes when you're not trained!
Management is almost never in clinic so they assign team leaders who have no management experience who make it clear who their favourites are and will gossip between eachother and isolate you. 
The team leaders if they don't like you, will report false information about your performance to management. Don't believe ANYTHING they promise you, it's all fluff to draw you in so they then can destroy you mentally, emotionally and physically. 
You won't get toilet breaks, they will force you to speed through treatments so you can get clients or the front to push sashes on poor quality skincare (so then the treatments given are of poor quality), little to no training and no care for clients they just see them as money not people. 
If you accept a job here expect to be talked to awfully, feel sick to the stomach on your way to work and no opportunity for career advancement

I don't think i even want to be in this industry anymore. 
You try your hardest and do great work and its never recognised, but they will make a drama and focus on one small error during a shift. They always focus on the negatives

Each day involves assessing client concerns, educating them on realistic outcomes and creating personalised treatment plans to achieve natural-looking results.

In this role, I’ve strengthened my clinical assessment skills, developed a deeper understanding of facial anatomy and refined my ability to manage client expectations with honesty and care. I’ve also learned the importance of thorough documentation, compliance and maintaining the highest safety standards in aesthetic practice.

Management is very supportive and approachable, with a strong emphasis on ongoing education, ethical practice and professional development. There is clear guidance while still allowing autonomy in clinical decision-making.

The workplace culture is collaborative and respectful. The team works closely together to ensure clients feel comfortable, informed and confident throughout their journey.

The most challenging part of the job can be managing complex client expectations and high-pressure moments, but this has strengthened my communication and problem-solving skills. 

The most rewarding part is seeing clients leave feeling more confident and empowered, knowing you’ve contributed positively to their self-esteem.

As a Senior Therapist at Laser Clinics, a typical day revolves around advanced skin and laser treatments, in-depth consultations, treatment planning, and supporting junior therapists clinically. I’ve learned a high level of technical skill across laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation, and corrective treatments, as well as how to assess skin safely and effectively. Management is structured and protocol-driven, ensuring consistency and safety in treatments. The workplace culture is busy but collaborative, with strong peer support in treatment rooms. The hardest part of the job is managing a full book of complex skin concerns while maintaining precision and client comfort. The most enjoyable part is achieving visible skin results, treating challenging concerns, and building long-term client trust.

I was so excited to transition my nursing career to the world of cosmetic injecting, but I really should have never started with LCA to do it. First of all they made me pay ridiculous amounts of money to set myself up as a company and I had to pay my own workers comp insurance etc this ended up costing me over 2k just to get started. They don’t want any liability on themselves so you will be working as a contractor but expected to perform and work like a staff member. You are made to stay in clinic even when there are no clients just in case someone walks in and you literally just sit there for hours and hours doing nothing or being made to do reception work even though you are getting paid NOTHING as they pay you solely commission. Did I mention this commission structure sets you up for ultimate failure? They take 70% of profits so you are left with the 30% which doesn’t end up being much at all. The contract you sign when you begin basically outlines scare tactics that mention if you want to leave them, you have to pay back the whole cost of training provided to you (being around 18k). I LOVED injecting but LCA made it so stressful for me so I decided to look elsewhere. Please don’t waste your time, you are set up for failure.

Every day brings a mix of leadership, client care, team mentoring, business growth and ongoing learning within the aesthetics industry. I’ve had the opportunity to build strong relationships with both clients and staff while helping create a positive clinic culture focused on results, professionalism and support.

One of the highlights of my journey was being recognised for hard work and performance with an incredible incentive trip to Europe  a moment that truly made me feel valued and celebrated within the company. It showed me that dedication and passion do not go unnoticed.

Like any leadership role, balancing targets, people management and day to day operations can sometimes be challenging, but overall it has been an exciting and fulfilling career path with amazing opportunities.

In terms of areas for improvement,  compensation is reasonable, but could be more competitive in line with industry standards and I believe there could be stronger support for professional growth and further education. As someone who is eager to expand my skills and continue developing as a designer, it would be great to see more opportunities for training, upskilling, and structured career progression.

Overall, I love being part of the team and truly value the culture here. With some additional focus on growth, learning, and development opportunities, this role would be even more rewarding.

My Day consists of setting the clinic up for trading, ensuring the days is reflected correctly on the online system and that we have enough staff to cover all appointments, calling clients to confirm upcoming bookings and organizing the clinic to function with ease. 
It's great to have a good team it makes work a fun and friendly environment where we can learn and help each other with certain inquires and tasks. 

It can be hard being in customer service sometimes you can't please everyone of course, which is why its super important to remember all the people we do help on a daily basis to either improve their quality of life with better skin or even through making their laser journey something they will always enjoy and recommended to their friends and family. 

I love the beauty industry and how it helps so many people to feel confident in their own body. Skin is absolutely my passion, and I feel that LCA has great sales and affordable treatments which allow basically any budget to come in and get the help they need to achieve results. 

Working as an Aesthetic consultant at Laser Clinics has been a genuinely rewarding experience.  From the beginning, I felt welcomed into a supportive and friendly team environment.  Everyone is approachable and willing to help.

Management regularly checks in, not only about performance but also about wellbeing.  I have always felt they genuinely care about me a person, not just an employee, as this builds confidence and encourage professional growth.

The training is thorough and structured.  They ensure that consultants are fully trained to company standards before working independently with clients, which reinforces safety, consistency and professionalism.  This has helped me feel confident in delivery treatments and consultations.

The most challenging part of the role is navigating peak periods when the clinic is very busy.  However, the most enjoyable aspect is seeing returning clients who are happy with their previous results.  Building those relationships and contributing to their confidence journey is incredibly fulfilling.
