During the orientation, they portrayed everything in a positive light, often emphasizing the concept of "fun." Although I found it peculiar, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and stayed on. However, over the past few months of working here, I consistently feel exhausted and drained. I don't mind working hard if I'm compensated fairly, but due to the low wages and excessive micromanagement, most people here are dissatisfied and lack commitment. In fact, many team members frequently skip their shifts, placing an even greater burden on those who show up. The management also fails to compensate those who work alone during busy nights for 8 hours straight. Furthermore, we're required to give our availability three weeks in advance, and if any unforeseeable circumstances arise, they're indifferent and will pressure us to find someone to cover our shift, even though nobody is willing to do so due to the unfavorable working conditions. Additionally, the management is hypercritical of trivial matters and keeps us constantly engaged in pointless activities. We're even restricted from chatting with our colleagues for more than a minute (or sometimes as little as a few seconds), and if a manager sees us, they'll assign us to yet another meaningless task. There's inconsistency in training and expectations from different managers; we might be chastised by one manager for doing a task differently, despite being taught that way by another manager. They often fail to comprehend our explanations, even when we've gone to great lengths to clarify our actions. The team member turnover rate is alarmingly high, with many new employees quitting after only a week. I was initially hired as a guest service attendant, but I'm now performing tasks that I never agreed to. Although my colleagues and some shift managers make it bearable, chatting is prohibited, even when we have nothing to do. Doing tasks with a fellow team member is frowned upon, and I've seen some of my most positive and optimistic colleagues become resentful as a result of the work environment.

Overall, unless you're interested in developing hospitality skills, I wouldn't recommend this workplace as it has low standards and hires anyone who walks through the front door.

We are not allowed to chat with other team members for more than 1 minute (sometimes not even 5 seconds depending when the manager sees you) they will shoo one of us away to do another meaningless task. Inconsistent training and expectations from different managers, can be told off by one manager for doing a certain task differently even though I was taught to do it that way by another manager. Lack of understanding even when I explain myself.  The turnover rate for team members is incredibly high, with new workers quitting after only a week. The amount of people I have trained that I never saw again after 1 day is too many for one company. The coworkers and some shift managers is what makes me want to stay, they make it manageable but chatting is prohibited even when there's nothing to do. Doing tasks together with a fellow team mate is frowned upon. Seen some really positive and optimistic coworkers become really resentful due to the work environment.

Not worth your time unless you want to develop some skills in hospitality, as this workplace has no standards and just hires everyone that walks through the front door. Will be resigning soon.

In the beginning you will feels fun cause it got different department across bar, bowing  and arcade games. And you got “a lot” managers who will cheering, singing and dancing (except working) all the time when you saw them to make you feel like everyone is happy here (they are the only group of  people happy). Cause they will hiring a lot of people at the same time no matter who you are, as long as you said you want to work here they will hire you and give you shift, then you will be happy cause a lot of people on the same shift, it won’t be stressful work. Once you like to work like that, then that’s the time they start to cutting your shift, you will be on the bar by yourself, and there won’t be any food and beverage or guest service people on the shift with you, cause everyone supposed to be cross training and “multiple task” (I would call it is taking over their job without extra pay). Anyways eventually you will only get 1 or 2 shifts a week to service the bar and bowing lanes booking and serve food and clean up table and glasses and dishwasher and wipe the floor, balls, doors and bar by yourself within a 6.5 hours shift( they won’t give you a 8 hours shift anymore) someone has been called to clean up the toilet for them as a bartender. Feel bad for anyone who works as a basic staff there, feels sorry for all the customers who spend money and never get the thing they promised on the menu. Pizza and chips are frozen but sale as regular price, tap beers price going up 25% in 6months, whiskey they charge you as 12 years whiskey but you only got basic edition whiskey. Your bowing lanes will always get technical issues, so you won’t be enjoy half of your time cause you need to wait them to fix it for you, and imagine there’s only one person “multiple task” will help you , food and drinks always late, a lot of the things on the menu you can’t order it cause 90% of staff or managers can’t make. The way that the managers try to make enough money to meet the KPI is not how to manage a better business and build a better team, they only cut shifts and minimum the cost without considering the quality to “make” more money.

It's a fun work environment, work doesn't necessarily feel like work, and everyone is friends with everyone. The benefits are good, including discounts and flexibility with rostering off days. However, management, for the most part, is terrible. They seem good, until you call in sick/say no to covering 1 shift and suddenly you don't get rostered for months on end, yet they always hire an influx of new people. The favouritism is crazy. Most managers give their favourite people shifts and completely ghost everyone else. But if you can get past those particular managers, it isn't that bad of a place to work. It does take you a while to be trained in other areas though. 
Don't work here if you intend for this job to be your only income.

The venue manger and operations manager are incompetent and lazy, they don't particularly care about their staff and are SUPER manipulative. From the day I started working there people were dropping like flies. The team are lovely but no one wants to be there or take shifts to the point that you literally have to beg people to take your shifts when the awful management have rostered you on a day they knew you had uni on or when you're sick. Also if you want to change your availability or go anywhere or take a night off make sure you plan 21 days in advance.  The only good thing I would say I got out of working here was experience but considering the strain this job put on my life and mental health I would say its not worth it.

I'll be honest but working there wasn't the best for me or anyone else...the management used to be pretty ugly back then, a year later I can see them improving a bit but still no changes, I would recommend keeping this job to the side as casual. Some co-workers there can be super nice and genuine (just depends who you're talking to) but some others aren't what I expected, this place can influence some people become negative and start conflicts towards each other. Working here was pretty much exhausting to the point that I've had issues with my mental health in a toxic environment, I would get constantly bullied, wronged and mistreated there. If you're looking to work here it's fun and nice just don't get involved with people here too much.

Pay sucks for part timers not even worth it. Keep this as a casual side job if you just want to learn some new bar things. The upper management are absolute trash and everyone knows it lmao. They couldn’t care less about you and are so stingy to save $1. The dishwasher upstairs is broken? Oh that doesn’t need to be fixed. So you gotta take everything downstairs until you’re so exhausted. You have to run around everywhere and do everything. Closing times suck. If you want to lose your health and sleep schedule then work here lol. Otherwise most of the co workers are the loveliest people ever which is what makes the job worth even doing. Other than that there’s some fun things like dressing up for events. 

If you’re applying for a bartending position be aware that within a couple weeks if you aren’t in the immediate friendship circle of management, then you’re bound to be thrown out of bar. The only good thing about this job was working with some awesome people who have become life long friends. But even then, as soon as management see you having too good of a time at work, be sure that they’re going to do whatever to make you miserable again. Managers even deleted all the music that kept us sane off the machine, but wouldn’t bother to update it with new music either. Terrible managers, terrible environment once they start targeting you. 

Head office is so disconnected from day to day operations and it shows in how the casual Team are treated, little to no support for busy shifts with encouragement to not cover shifts even during peak trade periods to save on labour. Head office breathing down peoples necks about COG’s labour, but we sit with hundreds in not thousands on dollars of ‘allocated stock’ sitting idle for months with no plan to use, just wasteful resource allocation when we have have to go back to the team and tell them they are being cut to save on cost of service. The people are great, the culture at the ground floor is fantastic, head office is overbearing no and disconnected.

the worst place of employment you could give your soul to them and still pick others for higher roles then yourself. I can literally work in all departments there's 8. I can do 7. My shift will only be in one department but I end up getting asked to help in other departments which makes it even more stressful because you will be doing 30+ weeks doing more then half of the workers there and still they choose others for supervisor roles or management roles then myself
