I love the store, I love what we sell, I love my staff. Head office are lovely to communicate with and have been super helpful when I’ve needed them. Most tasks are easy to understand for anyone who has a retail background. The active involvement the ceos have with the teams is very wholesome and makes you feel like you’re doing good.

I manage a massive store, but I am 1 of 4 team members. I’m only allowed to roster on my staff for 3 hours a day to cover my lunch break, other than that I have to close the store to get access to a sit down 10 minute break or to use the bathroom. When my staff fall ill I can be stuck working 8.5 hour shifts all alone multiple days in a row. And no one is generally able to cover as with the little amount of shifts given staff generally have other jobs to survive. Having to try to close the store just to eat or go toilet is ridiculous some times. I have had moments where I’ve held on so long I’m literally clutching myself while trying to count the till as I didn’t get the chance to go to the bathroom until close. Having open availability to using the toilet is a basic human right, yet it’s not provided. Stocking shelves, merchandising, responding to emails, making up the promo table, answering the phone, doing banking, accepting deliveries all alone while also being punctual to serving customers is so hard. It just gets to a point where you have to accept that there’s not much more you can do and if a customers mad because you weren’t available to them it’s really not your fault. I can surely say, my work ethic and customer service drops dramatically when I haven’t been able to eat or use the bathroom for hours. The expectation to come to work early without being paid and count the till is ridiculous. No one in their right mind is going to come to work early to do work and not get paid for it. 
I know for sure my staff would be more passionate to work if they were physically in the store more & felt more connected and involved & cared for/about. That would increase better presentation and connections with customers/punctual customer service which would build great relations between customers and staff & hopefully then drive more sales. 
I see a lot of potential for this company but they’re cutting corners and missing the mark in so many ways. It could be so much better.

While it is only a casual position (so on average I do about 40hrs a fortnight), the pay is pretty good for the role. There is a lot of working by yourself, which I personally like, and you do get to work with your team on crossover shifts, but if you like a full team environment at all times then maybe this isn't the role for you.

Management are pretty friendly and helpful, but sometimes random things are suddenly changed with the merching which can be frustrating. There was an incident recently where we had to change the entire front table after just one day because the sale that was on didn't meet head office's sales target. This is the only major issue though.

My team are incredible and I enjoy the vibe and the products in store. Honestly the best retail job I've worked thus far.

Not a nice company to work for 
They say it is a family oriented business but not like that at all.
Hardly any kind of training and then they expect you to know everything straight away.

Too high expectations on the employee

It seems as though Kaisercraft are still figuring out what it means to be a big retailer. They grew very quickly over the past few years but without fixing existing issues. 
High staff turnover due to low hours. Some days the task list is too long with no help. Head Office don't really care about the teams instore.
The people you get to work with and the AM's are definitely the positive.


A good place to work if you’re looking to get into retail. Good for learning how to work by yourself and assist customers with things once you learn how things work

For the casual employee there is not enough hours to live on, roughly 10 hours a week is not enough to survive nowadays 

Workers Can be very cliquey. Don’t let age fool you, it does not mean they will be more mature.

Management (area manager and higher) are unsupportive and set expectations while not knowing what it’s like actually working in the store.

You’re on your own for most shifts so it gets a bit lonely and boring on quiet days, pretty good if you’re introverted though.

Retail level 3 so pay is pretty good, and everyone is casual except for managers.

I worked here for 6 months and loved the company and all the staff. The company actually cares about their staff and you felt it. It’s a shame that the store I was working at closed otherwise I would still be there.

The store team is great but unrealistic expectations and micromanaging from head office and lack of support made it difficult. 
Also consistent abuse from customers who don’t like the change over the last 5 years.

Only 3.5-5 hr shifts, 3 weekly so not enough to live off not get you off mutual obligations. Good discounts for staff. Mostly by yourself in the store with some shift crossover time.

Great entry level job if you want to get comfortable with retail with a slow-paced environment. Albeit can get disorganised at times the community is still otherwise supportive.
