At KONE you can work in service, installation, sales or various degrees of supervisor. If you like to be a bit technical and enjoy dealing with customers, then elevators might be the place for you.

Unless you are really lucky, you will not get a great deal of technical training and will need to learn most of it through reading equipment documentation on site or asking your co-workers. Management steer training to less interesting things like how workers can make management reporting easier, reducing downtime and the usual obligatory WH&S talks.

Every department in this organisation remains in its own silo with a self-interested manager in charge, there is no such thing as the entire organisation working together. An ingrained culture or "that's not our problem" or "if they get the work, then that's less money for me and my area will look bad" thrives, so employees get punished if they choose to help a fellow employee from another area.

The actual workers are a pretty decent bunch of guys, although most of them are sick of complaining about the way the company has evolved and have pretty much given up, they just come to work to get paid and don't care if everything falls apart because at some point "they told you this was going to happen".

Lack of trust among most employees, unhappy overworked staff, dedicated to cash flow, money comes first before people.
Business doesn't invest in people for long term but quick gains and when you are no good to them will get rid of you at any cost.
Nepotism driven. No progress or professional development plan, no goal setting, highly unstructured will make you question how this business is still operating.
Very low morale among employees, they call this business a soul less company.
Only work here if you are too desperate but have an exit plan ready not for long term, the work culture will eat you inside out. 
Terrible HR right from recruitment to business partner, they are only concerned about their promotion and pay rise. The location is also bad.

Serious misconduct by management and HR by utilising bully tactics disguised as “helping” staff
Toxic work culture as been condoned and fostered by incompetent management that will throw anyone from their team under the bus to save themselves. 
Unrealistic KPIs with 0 training or lack of relevant support when required isn’t helping staffs’ mental wellbeing!
Despite this reality there are really great, knowledge and helpful technicians and staff that have good people skills.
Time consuming, over complicated, micro managed systems coupled with insufficient internal resources is making customers unhappy with service.
Company only cares for shareholder profits, customers and staff are bottom of the list, technicians have some protection with good union. 
Work Entitlements not paid correctly when due.

My interview was basically a communication that the job was mine. No real assessment of capabilities. That was very estrange but I did not made more of it and I went for the job. After all it was right after COVID and I needed a change. Once inside I realised the chaotic environment there and people leaving the company constantly. During 18 months I lived 3 reorganisations and I saw how the Melbourne office was halved but the work kept pouring in. 
Integrity was not what I would remember of KONE precisely and half trues are what you mostly will get on a regular basis.

The current bunch of directors and senior management are completely out of touch with the market, customers and employees. They have created their own protective group and willing to throw anyone under the bus to make themselves look good. There is no support, leadership, guidance, training or anything that a large organisation like Kone should have. They all have their snouts in the trough and have turned a once great company with great people into a toxic cesspool or stress and despair. No little wonder their is such a huge turnover off staff. There is nothing of value on offer with this company. Unless there is a complete clean out of directors than you’ll just be flogging a dead horse.

Management is a joke.
Pays good for someone who still lives in 1990.
Role responsibilities do not exist? Everyone basically does everything chaotically and gets blamed for issues regardless.
KONE treats it's employees like a farmer treats pigs in a farm. We're just their to make them money, for free if they could and get fired when they can't afford to pay us.
Don't expect a raise unless u beg for it.
Don't expect to advance up the ladder, period.
Your good work will definitely go unnoticed. The only people who get praised are those who do absolutely nothing and pretend to work.

KONE is an excellent place to work. Having worked in the FM, Construction and also NFP sector, I have worked at an array of different business, and KONE is by far the best place I have worked. The company and management really focus on the people at KONE, making it an engaging and fun place to work. Management also focus on succession plans, with the average tenure at KONE being 30 years - it is a testament to the company.  
I would want my kids to work here - which speaks volumes. 

It is the first formal company in my career after my graduation, so the experience in this company was quite remarkable. I learned how to act professionally, familiar with work environment, perform every task with highly attention to details, tried to become a problem solver and independent worker while being flexible with other co-workers. It shaped my vision for my future jobs and make me a better employee for any company.

Work tasks was to conduct service calls and maintenace of private and business elevators. They have a SAP maintenance  system which allowed you to know what to check at required maintenance periods. 

Management were great everyone understood their role and ensured every one was comfortable with their responsibilities.

I really enjoyed working for Kone , I liked the fast pace we worked at and turning a wooden box into an elevator that passengers can safely travel in was fun . The teamwork had a great feel about it .
The money was great - always overtime available.
 And to be honest I miss working there !
