Mosaic brands tend to squeeze as much out of their floor staff as possible.  Talented ppl going to waste. Way too much is given to staff to have to deal with on their own in such short shifts. Its not only serving customers, boxes apon boxes of stock, promo changes mid week, and this is after you've just organised your store to the previous promo, so they like to create more unnecessary work, and double handling. Yet it must be ALL done by a certain time, which is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Most stores run on 1 staff member at a time too. 

You'll need to be able to do the following on your own;
-serve and put clothes away cust don't want
-unpack, hang, all the new stock. 
-move your store around to accommodate for it. 
-chances are it's not in the VM or you aren't given direction as to where old stock should go, or its current $.
-use your initiative to find a place for stock, JUST DONT GET CAUGHT USING YOUR INITIATIVE as it wasn't their idea regardless of it increasing sales
-have all your emails checked, paperwork done. 
-hang any excess stock to refill the store
-deal with 'that' unsatisfied cust who bought something online.
And the above is all supposed to be achieved within an hr, hr and a half, depending what time u open/close. The above is based on a 3 to 4 hr shift-with a 4hr 'nothing but serve customers' curfew during the day.  It's physically impossible. 

They've cut hours way back, that's Covids fault of course, yet seem to be in profit now, but no increase to the cut trading and staff hrs to help with the workload, yet it continues to increase, endless pressure and unnecessary MICRO MANAGEMENT. Instead of letting their floor staff just do their jobs, there's CONSTANT phone calls/emails from those sitting at a desk oblivious to what its ACTUALLY like having to run one of their stores.

It’s so stressful. Head office don’t care about you at all. You’re just another number, your physical and mental health is disregarded and not considered in anything. They’re so strict and only care about making money. The CEO is okay but head office is terrible and the policies too. They take away from staff’s break so they don’t lose money. You work on your own all day bc they don’t want to pay two staff for the same time. You have so much to do in such little time. Expect to do hours and hours of unpaid overtime. Your hard work and efforts are rarely ever appreciated but when you’re not performing well or when your sales are low you instantly get a grilling. 

Boring but quite easy shifts. The customers are generally easy to deal with. However, the customers of 30+ years are now expressing grievances and distrust with the brand.
The Mosaic brand consistently made baffling decisions with the most relevant example being to get rid of all the casuals on a whim, making all staff part time and signing part time contracts on behalf of employees and not telling the employees for months. The axing of casuals did not just happen at Katies, it's across all the stores. You wonder why there are so many job listings under this company. I will never work for Mosaic again

They just don’t give a dam  about you as a person they treat you like robots

Terrible   The region has there own little group

They cut hour all the time and then expect you to  do 8 hours work

This was my first job and it has been an ideal environment to be trained in. It is extremely professional and focused on customer service.The management is excellent and the staff I have worked with in multiple stores are welcoming and friendly to coworkers and customers. I thoroughly enjoy working at Katies however I'm looking for a job with more consistent rosters.

Katies is expanding slowly. It has been a fantastic place to work. The most enjoyable part of the job has been learning about the world of retail and what goes on behind the scenes. The customers are also fantastic and you get to build a rapport with them which keeps them coming back. You develop a more personal relationship with them which is nice.

A typical day at work consisted of unpacking new stock, greeting customers, cleaning, assisting customers, folding clothes, dressing mannequins, reorganising racks and communicating with other staff members. the hardest part of the job was standing for 8hrs until the shift was over however it was a good experience

I loved working at Katie's, the workers were always fun, and enjoyed a laugh. The most enjoyable part of the job was seeing my team mates and meeting new customers
