The application process was a breeze, the interview was great and I felt that the interviewees were kind. They took the time to get to know me and my skill set and made me feel like I was already a part of the team.
Once accepting my role the induction and internal training support from the team of experienced management and supporting staff was amazing, I felt confident in my new role and if I needed help everyone was more than happy to assist me.
My personal development within the company is always a priority for HR and the Director, they are extremely supportive and involved with my future goals and progression within the company.
I pride myself in providing care to people in my community who are aging or have a disability, I would not be able to do this without working for Just Better Care Mid North Coast. 

Even when there are tough days the support from the team and being able to assist people in the community makes it all worth it.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The clients. Working with the aged clients and caring for them and getting to know the  client and their families in the final stages of life.  Being there when they needed me the most was amazing and very rewarding for me.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
work overload. no work life balance. working 7days a week for over 9months and no consideration for my health or well-being.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
I worked alone with my clients 90% of the time so it was ok in that sense. The office culture was ok but a couple of the office staff used to talk about a couple of clients in a very unprofessional manner. I didn't like this at all.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day would be very busy with a full shift load most days, but enjoyable to be able to make a small part of my clients day by helping them in some way. whether it be cleaning some or all of their home or just sitting having a chat n cuppa being the only company some would have that day.

Had joined this company with high hopes, as I had similar views with their mission statement and company culture. Regrettably in recent times things have changed, more so in the last 2 years as feedback from customers I work with seem to have experience the same things. Primarily rostering and communication issues - i.e. lack of updating customers with recent changes (big problem), telling the customers what they want to do rather than listening to what the customer wants, unfulfilled commitments, leaving customers I work with, with an ever-increasing frustration, leaving them no choice but to migrate elsewhere. This is very unfortunate... Also believe the customers have also suffered due to rapid expansion; and lack of staff and or quality staff to cater accordingly as a result.

My work day began at 8 am , waving to the majority of the companions of the institution and entering the office to prepare to organize the room where the activity or arrange stationery and equipment home visit.
Teamwork learned, I was responsible for evaluating , create and develop occupational programs concerning the program.
My coworkers were from different areas as Special Educators , psychologists , social workers,physiotherapists a dumb person , a blind person as also a person with difficulty in mobility and a translator of some signs from around the country.
the locations where the population was inaccessible to execute the project structure and thus for safety.
work several gathered to develop skills in people with disabilities in all professions the same goal

I have recently completed a Certificate III in Aged Care and Individual Support through Care College that has provided me with a good understanding of good patient care practices. This included manual handling, Dementia and Parkinson support, Infection Control procedures and processes, and effective communication between the patient, other health professionals, family and community. At current I am working as Community support worker  at Just Better Care has provided me with Working as part of the care team, using a holistic approach, to look at every aspect of our clients’ care ,Providing the very best care and support to clients in line with their personalized care plans & Reporting in a timely manner on all complaints and incidents

Caring for the clients is rewarding, especially the elderly. They make you feel appreciated. As for the casual/vacation position, it was very difficult as there was barely any continuity of care with clients. I had shifts taken away from me an hour before I was meant to completing that shift, as well as being given a shift 15 minutes before it needed to commence. I personally found that aspect of the job difficult. A lot of time clients were not aware that there usual carer wouldn't be attending that day so it was in some ways distressing for the clients. Alot of travel was involved that I wasn't paid for, so it was like working a 6 hour day but only being paid for 3 hours.

Run away ! Working in this company is just a disaster. Hierarchical abuse, perpetual devaluation of staff, judgments,...they really don't mind about the workers. They force employees to perform some tasks that are impossible to accomplish (management seems completely disconnected from the reality of daily work) and then they put a completely threatening pressure. They make it clear that this is laziness when it simply cannot be done. The staff are tired, oppressed and depreciated. It's not social and not professional at all (it's probably why it's under paid and all staff leave). It's a shame, if the management was more social and human it could change the team/work atmosphere...but unfortunately it's not the case.

Working environment is great and empowering employees to reach their potential.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being their support professional means a lot for me and how I can affect especially to make good changes for clients and to be able to achieve client’s goal is actually very rewarding for me though it will be an exhausting day.

The clients that you get to meet and service it is a very rewarding job, management are very supportive who listen to any feedback you give them

Wanting to go above and beyond but do not have time to do everything that the client requests

Amazing! I would highly recommend 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A app where you see your daily schedule, go to your regular clients, provide the service that the client needs, go to next client till your day ends

High management staff turn over.  You are expected to drive long distances between clients, for shifts of just 1 or 2 hours,   with no travel time or km paid.   Big gaps between clients,  which means waiting for hours in ur car.   Rosters will change with no notice or explanation as to why u have lost regular clients.   Very few buddy shifts,  and zero  on the job training
