I worked there about 12 years ago and enjoyed it very much. Then retired from their and went back to work just 20 months ago.  My role was mainly Customer Service, then helped out on Reception and then ended up in their Medical Library.   Working in their Medical Library was the best job.  In that position I was asked to find/source information for Doctor's, hospital's etc.,and fax information on. In turn they would source information for us when needed.  I also kept a record of any information, incoming and outgoing for our own records.  I also put the new books and magazines on the shelves and kept the shelves up to date and in order.  This was a very busy part-time job and often had me working back or through my lunch time.

What is the best part of working at the company?
The best part of working at J&J used to be the people but that has changed dramatically in the past few years

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Expectations go meet unrealistic sales targets and then the berating when you fall short despite your best efforts 
The current leadership team are a night mare to work for.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Terrible - it is demanding and stressful and the treatment of people is appalling 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful and anxiety ridden.  Expectations to see too many customers in too short a time

J&J is a great place to work 
they are very SAP process oriented and has a very high standard when it comes to quality. I learned how to keep in step with the policies and procedures. I had the privilege of going through more than 70 compliance trainings. Team work was excellent. Management was very patient and willing to teach and train the new staff.
The hardest part of the job was compatibility with SAP  and infrastructural noncompliance that took a long time to fix.
 
The most enjoyable part of the job was that they allowed me to design, develop and implement some of the processes that I felt needed some amendment.

Used to love working here but since a change in Management the environment has become a little toxic.
Manager does not like strong females and men are treated superior.
No leadership at all and training is by the seat of your pants....
Could be exceptional place to work  it management are disorganised and do not listen to staff.
Never asked to do overtime but told.
Best part is the people you work alongside. Very supportive and helpful.

Provide direction for countries, from tactical to strategic activities. Support product, through learning and logistics.
Cross functional, cultural and selling activities.
Management very supportive of aall the businesses, not revenue dependant.
Excellent co-workers, supportive and engaging.
Being the only one who was responsible for the portfolio in the region.
Very dynamic fast growing business

Pros:
-The people I worked with were great.
-My team leader was understanding and very supportive.
-They held lots of social activities to build moral.
-Free Gym & workout classes.
-Amazing employee discount on all J&J products.

Cons:
-My department was great but other departments were over worked to a point that bred a negative workplace environment for their workers.
-Very challenging  to get a permanent position.
-Communications between departments & management may take a long time.  
-Dated training methods.

A great place to work. Great training on the products and processes. The company is very professional and looks after its employees. I really enjoyed my time with the company. The products are interesting to work with and the marketing exceptional.
As far as career path many people stay with the company for years and are very happy. Internal programmes  are available to those wanting to progress with study.

The integration of Synthes into Johnson & Johnson has been mismanaged since the company was acquired over four years ago.  What was once a great company, is now a dim reflection of its former self.

Some great people still work there, and the original mission of the company is still among the proudest, but it has lost its greatness in so many ways.

Unnecessarily hierarchical and also political.
Has a “credo” which serves conveniently as
corporate window dressing but it doesn’t
live up to. Colleagues who truly believed in 
the credo usually left disillusioned, alienated and disappointed. The political power brokers always prevailed. The founding fathers of J&J I believe would be mortified. 

Lots of opportunities to climb the corporate ladder, make sure you’re not in a role for more than 18months though.

Most commercial decisions are made for personal gain (ladder climbing) rather than for the good of the business or what is best for the customer. Very short term decisions look great in a spreadsheet for 6 months then that person moves on and doesn’t have to deal with the long term consequences of the decisions. Happens every year.
