To care for all residents to the best of my ability. A typical day at  work for me was to make my residents comfortable and content. The thing I've learned is you can only be a one place at a time and delegate other staff for assistance. The management to me is like any management they have a company to run at the end of the day and do what they can. The hardest part is saying goodbye to residents when they die. The companionship of the other staff members and families that you met is the most enjoyable part.

A typical day at work is very for filling and enjoyable. I've learned patients and understanding. Most of my co-workers are fabulous to work with and have a great sense of humor and love to have a laugh. The hardest part of my job would be getting shifts and working with someone that your personality clashes with. The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing the faces of the residents after you have helped them complete something they could not do alone.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Plenty of hours available throughout kitchen, cleaning and laundry 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Getting everything done in the allocated time frame 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Plenty of diversity and always someone to chat with

Worked in Launceston for this company. Neglected residents, short staffed, alot of bullying from Rn and management. Some really great care staff and nurses but some shocking ones also. Everything is about money. I would think twice about working for this company. U work flat out for peanuts, but always plenty of shifts  cause theyre always short of staff.

Japara aged care at Prahran was an easygoing  workplace. I liked both the residents and the staff. My workmates were mostly kind, respectful, caring, supportive, sometimes funny, knowledgeable. 

Japara had horrible management; who didn't care about their staff; or in numerous cases didn't care what type of staff they employed; Additionally they were not interested in their residents individual needs

I feel very comfortable and 100% job satisfaction at Japara.
Its really safety work place
Fun and Friendly team .Lots of supports.
very well ongoing educational system
Especially well trained and updated staffs
very well modern equipments and good hygienic practices

Not a very nice company to work for always cutting back staff and expecting you too do double or extra shifts. The management  there don't really give a dam about their workers or residents . Just a big profit making company.

loved working with the residents but really didn't like the way it was all managed is was absolutely shocking and you get punished by management if you decline a shift.

When I was there 2012 the culture was great and they provided free PT sessions at lunch in the park. I was there on a mat leave contract and my manager was great in training me.
