Where to begin! During my short but painful time at jobs statewide, I experienced a lot of new things. Some highlights were: a handful of occasions where the team was not allowed to take a lunch break, being pressured to harass job seekers and employers by calling them more than 3 times a day (don’t put down those phones guys!!) , working in a building with cameras everywhere (so the CEO can watch everybody) but no security in the building, no accountability from leaders, everything is always tomorrows problem and trying to get approval for something is a mess as senior management clearly just want to have the management title without any responsibility attached. It’s all good though as long as you remember to submit your daily report to show how productive you’ve been and how many voicemails you’ve left! 
Their training program is non existent and consists of 1 induction day, about 30 compulsory government modules, followed by shadowing other recruitment consultants, who are also just a few months old in the role, will share with you that they despise the place. It’s a very bland and outdated place to work, with EVERYTHING including pay slips being hand written and then not filed anywhere. Mayhem. 
You are required to follow scripts that sound and look like they were written by a child, with spelling mistakes and no human aspect. 
The level of micromanagement in this joint is next level. You can’t even put down those filthy phones for 1 second without a manager coming over and asking what you’re doing. This is the only workplace where I’ve ever been spoken to like a child 
After seeing the way the CEO interacted and spoke to other staff members and management,  I had to run. Very strange place

A typical day entailed taking inbound and making outbound calls, capturing job placements and responding to a queue of emails among other admin duties like data entry. Initially, I quite liked my co-workers and felt the manager was genuinely understanding of the workload pressure and seemingly concerned for our wellbeing. However there were glaring concerns.

Being understaffed, the high turnover rate and the limited amount of time we were allocated per phone conversation (3 mins) meant the pressure only grew and got worse. It wasn't unusual to have to deal with escalations or threats of violence made directly to branches in any given week. If you work this role, you can almost guarantee to have a really difficult jobseeker once a day. And no more than three minutes to resolve the matter which is frankly despicable. 

I made the decision to leave to pursue other things but also because I could not tolerate being threatened, cursed at and spoken over when I was trying to help. I knew my sudden departure would not go down well but I needed to take care of myself. 

Regardless of it being an entry-level job, safety and well-being should not be overlooked because everyone is too busy to care. Front-line worker's engaging in this kind of role should have the adequate support they need and not be treated as disposable from those higher-up as was my impression.

What is the best part of working at the company?
It was relatively close to home. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The way they treat their staff. Ridiculous KPIs and they really only care about South Australia. I was in Bankstown, Sydney and we had no walls, no kitchen area and junk piled up everywhere.  'Walls' were promised continuously for a year but were never delivered. I sincerely believe there was no plan ever to renovate the office, they are just stringing staff along. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
From Regional Manager and above, toxic. Branch Managers are really nice and endure the same relentless pressure and outrageous expectations as RCs.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Complete embarrassment trying to run a training course with no actual training room, no walls, no decent training materials or equipment and working with idiots in Adelaide who had no idea what it was actually like.

I can't express how much it sucked it work for jobs statewide. 
From the top down toxic management, to the bitter and resentful job seekers. 
Everyone is miserable and over worked or simply don't care about their work. There's not enough time in the day to accomplish everything they want you to do and when you inevitably burn out they'll come down hard on you. Everything is a mess because of the constant revolving door of staff so the people who are left are getting smashed. They keep talking about how it will get better with more staff but don't do anything to keep the staff they have.

Pressure, pressure, pressure. The training was awful and one of the most horrible experiences in my life. They're all about money and don't care for the job seekers at all. Don't get me wrong a lot of the job seekers are hard to deal with but they aren't treated well at all. The cold calling is crazy and you have to put up with a lot of abuse and have ridiculous targets every day, week and month. They be-little you and make you feel help-less and don't give you the support you need to be successful in the harsh work conditions. The whole company is a mess and needs a restructure. We were way under staffed and unappreciated.

Good to get your foot through the door to gain some experience in recruitment and sales but everyone tends to leave before their probation period ends due to extreme stress. Staff turnover is very high so you're constantly taking on more of the workload whilst having to keep up with your own KPIs. The company's system is outdated, may be a modern office but definitely not a modern environment. Heavily micromanaged but not the manager's fault as they get scolded from management higher up in front of you and everyone else. All in all, if you're desperate, get in and get out just for the experience.

never seen such terrible management. literally had food poisoning & was vomiting so bad and my manager made me stay at work for an extra hour for no reason. was getting overworked with jobs that werent in my description. management in all branches was horrible. the only good part were a handful of my co-workers. the company was no help to the job seekers and they were denied most things that they asked for, mind you these job seekers genuinely needed help. although it gave me good skills, i would never recommend ANYONE to work there!

This company has a high turn over, the job description makes it seem as if it is a promising career. However the job itself is generally more of a sales role. I was hired as a youth consultant and the lack of support in that office was appalling. Expected to play numerous roles and make sure to meet kpi’s.
Micromanaged and expected to get results without proper training or support. Only get a half an hour break, although you are entitled to two paid ten minute breaks. Have to work until 5:06, which was not stated in the contract. 

Jobs Statewide has a high staff turn over due to unrealistic expectations from management with no incentives to motivate the staff. Because of this, the remaining staff shoulder the extra work and the cycle continues. Always having new staff means that the knowledge available from your peers is limited, as no one has the experience to help. The job seekers are the ones who suffer most because of this, being bounced from consultant to consultant. 

This company is completely and solely profit driven with absolutely no concern or respect for job seekers. Job seekers are looked down upon and consultants are treated like a number by management. Dismal pay, pressure, unreasonable and unrealistic KPI targets all topped up with management lacking in how to actually run a cohesive business and how to keep good staff. Staff retention is horrible as any decent employee leaves for something better elsewhere.
