Any day of the week is great for me that's how I know I'm getting hours at work. I have learnt more skills on developing myself of how to work frequently and safer. The management are really good, they give us Tasks that are reasonable and possible to complete, they make sure we are the same as we arrive at work, and going back from work, which is "SAFE". The Co workers are really kind and thoughtful, easy to work with and fun...The Hardest Part of the Job Probly the Heat working in the Sun! But that's part of the job...The most enjoyable part of the job is working with a bunch of Blokes that Communicate n Having abit of a laugh😀 At the same time getting the work done...

No support from senior management

Poor most there have been there for ever and just waiting fo 20 year service to retire

Mundane and very little achieved due to political intervention

After giving many years and unpaid hours I was dismissed. It coincided with me refusing to allegedly perform certain tasks and allegedly confidentially contacting the ombudsman who later offered me my job back.

Work experience and some special people

Double standards, workloads and isolation

Polarised and bias treatment. Differential treatment between FTE’s and contractors

Robotic. No staff interaction and glum

My role as Director was to oversee and manage the Division involved in the planning the rapid growth of an outer urban city Council. It was a stimulating time working in this environment against a backdrop of corrupt Councillors who were in control,

Whether your experience working at Ipswich Council is good or bad depends on who you know more than what you know. Mainly still a boys' club culture. Flexible working hours advertised but not actually available in many branches.

Ipswich City Council has allowed me to develop my ability to adapt quickly to new environments, to take on multiple tasks and be accountable for responsibilities with a high ethical and moral standard. Additionally, the experience allowed me to develop effective teamwork and communication skills to interact with a diverse range of clients and colleagues.

Organisation with objective of improving the life of people in the community.           

Great culture with great benefits and a lot of opportunity for growth and to learn new skills and provides an innovative and work life balance . Management understanding and willing to listen.

I loved my position at the council but a change of management brought a change of culture which lead to many staff members leaving due to poor leadership and bullying tactics.
