A typical day would include working on my projects directed at improving social well-being and cohesion, acting as the point for procurement for two department.

Management were excellent; my line managers were very supportive of my projects and Human Resources provided me with training to carry out my work. I enjoyed working with my colleagues, and felt like I fit in to the team.

The toughest part was meeting deadlines and dealing with outside agencies when creating the infrastructure for my projects. Although difficult this was not insurmountable. The most enoyable part was setting up the projects and seeing people take part in them.

a typical day was going to different site around Ipswich and completing tasks like watering town hall flowers and trimming hedges. I learned about life in a work place for the first time, which was hard work and tea breaks. management was kind and friendly towards me and gave me a tour around charity park. the culture of the workplace is mixed in my opinion as others were either happy or bored of there jobs. the hardest part of the job was the hedge trimming as I had to cut endless hedges throughout my time there. the best part of the job was that they took me to a last day breakfast at Sainsbury's.

Have learnt many ways of dealing with issues a really strong team and more flexibility than most jobs.the hardest part of the job is getting support for a person in the current climate of GP shortages and NHS issues and other agencies being stretched.
The best bit is when the issues get resolved and the people we support are being well supported.


The work here consisted of a mixture of tasks, from setting out equipment to running events for school children. 

Work required a large amount of customer service and an ability to build rapport with a large range of people. I still have the opportunity to return to work here in the holidays.

I turn up every morning at ten minutes before my day starts to have a coffee and get ready PPE, all the other operatives and technicals are fine and helpful, find out daily/ weekly tasks, the hardest part is getting quality materials, best part is helping to keep Ipswich presentable. 

I enjoyed my time overall at Ipswich Borough Council. Some days were better then others but once I settled in, it was a unforgettable experience.

First step on the management ladder, given plenty of responsibility and resources to devise better way of doing things. A great team willing to work together.

Ideal environment for working parents with young children that are especially parent friendly even with part time job. The hours can be from 6.00am until 9.00pm

Learned new skills and enjoyed meeting new staff however work was boarding and was uninteresting. Hours were flexible and staff were nice however there was little Mangement and lots of bureaucracy which wasted time.

A busy working environment but with a poor work ethic and people who were not that concerned for the rate payers of the town and focused mainly upon their own interests and advancement. Was glad to get away
